OwnerRez allows you to upload and store photos of your Properties into our database. These photos are used for display in your Hosted Website, if you have one. They are also sent automatically to your listing channels if you are using a Channel Integration connection that supports that.

Import Photos
You can automatically import your property listing photos and other information from Airbnb or Vrbo, which will populate the photos into this area.
Add Photos
If users have images saved on their computer, they can navigate to Properties > specific Property > Listing Content > Photos > Upload Photos. Users can add images saved on their computer by clicking Upload Photos, and delete existing photos by clicking Delete All.
When uploading photos, you can add photo captions (descriptions), assign the photo to a specific room or accessibility amenity, or add a video. Don't forget to Save.
To delete an individual image, click the upper-right trash can icon of that image, and click Delete Photo.
You can also select all images to be deleted by clicking the Delete All button located at the top right.
Mouse over the (i) icon of an image to see information about the true size of the image.
Photo Captions
Users can add photo captions at the time of upload or edit individual image details by clicking on the pen/pencil icon.
Add photo captions (descriptions), assign the photo to a specific room or accessibility amenity, delete it, or add a video, and then save.
Note that YouTube and Vimeo are supported on Hosted Websites and WordPress. Other External Site designers may support different formats.
Reorder Photos
After adding your photos, you can drag and drop them to reorder them, and your changes are automatically saved.
On mobile devices, use the top double arrow icon to drag and drop your photos, and your changes are automatically saved.
Keep in mind that many listing channels (e.g., Airbnb, Google Vacation Rentals, Vrbo) do not always honor the photo order you have configured in OwnerRez.
Add Floor Plans
Image Files
Add an image file of your floor plan to your Property Photos.
- Only have a PDF file? Users can use a Convert PDF to JPG tool but the ratios may be off and the image may not display correctly. Users may have to "crop" their image to a wide format (such as 6:9) to display correctly.
- Users could also use a Screen Capture tool, such as MS Snipping Tool, Snagit or Greenshot to save and create an image file.
PDF Files
- Users can upload files within their Account > Files page allowing users to copy the public URL for the file, and drop it into a menu on your Hosted Website.
- After users have uploaded the file and copied the public URL, they can navigate to Settings > Hosted Website > (select website name) > +Create Menu in the Menu & Pages tab.
- The next screen allows users to enter their Menu Display Text as you'd like it to appear in your website header and the Destination URL where users will paste the public URL from their Files.
Inline Images
Users can also add inline images to either of the following.
- Custom Hosted Website page
Users can add their floor plan image to a Custom Hosted Website Page by navigating to Settings > Hosted Website > Specific Website > Specific Custom Webpage > Upload Images or Files in the content section of the webpage.
- Property Description override
Download Photos
Users may need to download photos, which can be done by navigating to their specific Property > Listing Content > Photos and double-clicking on the i icon of the photo they wish to download.
The photo will open in a new tab automatically. Users can download the photo by right-clicking on the photo and selecting Save image as... to save the photo in their selected location.
FAQs
What dimensions (proportions such as 16:9) should I be uploading?
We make use of any format and will scale/trim accordingly in the cuts used by the website or channel. However, a wide format (such as 16:9) gives the best experience, so that is generally preferred.
Should all pictures be wide versus some tall and some wide?
All should be landscape orientation (wide). Portrait orientation is not supported. The system will attempt to gracefully handle portrait ones via padding and cropping, but they don't usually end up looking as good because of how web page layout design works in Hosted Websites and the various listing sites.
What is the limit on the length of the filename of an image to upload?
OwnerRez has a 192 character limit on the length of the name of image files that are uploaded. The OwnerRez photo caption can be up to 256 characters. Airbnb photo caption fields are limited to a maximum length of 250 characters.
When adding pics it does not keep the order of my file names, and then I have to reorder them manually.
You may have to drag and drop the photos to reorder them after you initially upload and save.
I tried to add two copies of the same photo, but it wouldn't let me.
Yes, OwnerRez is smart that way. :-)
If you really want to have two copies of the same photo in the same list (why?), you'll need to save it as a different supported format and re-upload it. So if it's JPEG, save it as PNG, or vice versa. OwnerRez won't be able to figure out that the JPEG version and PNG version are really the same picture, so it'll work.
How do I handle the "Invalid Image" error when attempting to upload images?
First, verify that your photo or image is a PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, etc. file format with a maximum file size of 30 MB and a minimum image size of 600x400 pixels.
If your photo or image is a different file format, such as HEIC, the default format for images on Apple devices, you'll have to convert it and rename it to one of our supported file formats (e.g., PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP).
How is my property displayed on my hosted website if my property hasn't had any photos added yet?
OwnerRez incorporates a generic placeholder image for multi-property hosted website listings without photos in search results. If your property lacks photos or images, the system automatically inserts the placeholder image into your multi-property hosted website's search results.
