Add a “Tasks” Button Directly Inside Each Reservation

I’d like to propose a workflow improvement that would significantly streamline daily operations for OwnerRez users—especially those managing multiple properties, automations, and guest-specific workflows.

The Idea (Simple but Powerful)

Add a “Tasks” button or hyperlink directly within the reservation interface that allows users to:

  • View all tasks already associated with that reservation

  • Create new tasks tied specifically to that reservation

  • Edit or manage those tasks without leaving the reservation screen

In short: tasks where the reservation already lives.

The Current Challenge

Right now, creating or managing a task tied to a reservation requires several extra steps:

  1. Navigate away from the reservation

  2. Click into the main Tasks menu on the left

  3. Work through multiple dropdowns

  4. Select the property

  5. Search for or manually identify the correct guest/reservation

While this works, it’s time-consuming and disruptive, especially when:

  • You’re mid-workflow responding to a guest

  • You need to set reminders for things like pool heat, special amenities, owner requests, or mid-stay check-ins

  • You’re managing many short stays where tasks are frequent and time-sensitive

This friction adds up quickly in a system that otherwise excels at efficiency.

Why This Matters

OwnerRez is already incredibly strong at reservation-centric management. Tasks are often triggered by or directly related to a specific reservation, so separating them into a different navigation flow feels like an unnecessary disconnect.

A reservation-level Tasks button would:

  • Reduce clicks and cognitive load

  • Keep users focused in one workspace

  • Minimize errors caused by selecting the wrong guest or property

  • Encourage better task usage overall (because it’s easier)

For power users running tight operations, this would be a meaningful quality-of-life upgrade.

Suggested Implementation (Flexible)

This could be implemented in a few ways, for example:

  • A “Tasks” tab or button alongside Charges, Emails, and Notes within a reservation

  • A contextual link like “View / Add Tasks for this Reservation”

  • Auto-prefill of reservation + property when creating a task from that view

Even a lightweight implementation would deliver immediate value.
