As an international customer, I find the appropriation of the “$” symbol to exclusively represent USD both misleading and discriminatory. The United States is not the only country that uses the dollar sign — currencies such as CAD, AUD, BZD, and many others share the same symbol.

If OwnerRez intends to position itself as a truly international platform, then the display of currencies must reflec...

It's finally Friday! This has been a pretty big week for news. The United States has a new president, created a new vaccine distribution plan, rejoined the Paris climate accord and the World Health Organization. Whew - all in a day's week's work. 😅

Now let's talk about vacation rentals!

Vrbo caught some heat for not following the lead of Airbnb, which blocked and canceled all reservations in t...

    Hi Shannon,

I completely understand why this feels unfair at first glance. It seems like you’re being taxed on money you don’t actually keep, but in reality, you aren’t losing anything in this transaction when the cleaning fee is marked as taxable.

And I do want to start by saying I am not a Tax Expert by any means, so certainly double-check with a tax accountant in your state.

    However,...

You will want to be aware of the limitations on channels & pet fees:

Airbnb will only pass through a pet fee per stay, not per pet, not per night. Airbnb will roll that pet fee into the base rent rate, you won't see a line item.

Airbnb also has only recently added the pet as part of the guest count, when booking. Guest's who are accustomed to previously being unable to add their pet as a gues...

OR's support article () regarding the Zapier integration specifically mentions the door code being an available and usable field:

However, within Zapier, this is not reflected in the booking data that's pulled in. It's nowhere on the list of available fields

For automatic replies, what are you trying to do exactly?

For inquiries, you can set up an autoresponder in OwnerRez but that's limited because VRBO doesn't allow you to send quotes or links through email before a booking anymore.

For bookings, you can do triggers on booking created for a "thanks for booking". But be careful with those because guests can get confused if they just also got one fr...

Prediction.... As long as VRBO and Airbnb get paid, and the money flows through them, they won't ever care about locking down the email address/phone number. It's not really possible anyway. They have to give you a phone number for the guest for emergencies and such, and as soon as you have that you can always call the guest and get the email. But I doubt they would want to limit the email addr...

No, that's considered to be essential.  However, it's rare that it's empty at that stage in the process - most listing channels provide it with a booking, and, it's required for all credit card payments anyway.

I would love to have the option to have tags show on the ribbon view. Would be great to see at a glance properties that have added an early check in/late check out or owners stays on the Ribbon view.

Would ALSO love to see the tag "OWNER STAY" so we are visually aware when owners come and go :)

    Thanks!!!  by Jaci C (/forums/users/347412403) – Apr 24, 2023 6:54 PM (UTC)

Hey Ken, Justus from OzarkStays here. My retort regarding the usefulness of a unified inbox is that we desperately need a central thread to keep up with all of the comms flowing throw OwnerRez. Let me paint a picture for you of what all is going on in my account.

We’ve got the following as far as connected accounts:

    * ABB & VRBO for our PM clients
    * My personal ABB & VRBO account
    * My bus...

I am absolutely dying for this feature.  Half the time the emails guests use for VRBO are ones they don't check often, so I have to tell them to make sure they check it, and THEN half the time the OR emails go to spam anyway.  High percentage of guests asking me for information the day before/day of check-in when it's already been sent to them... but went to spam.  Extra hassle for me and poor expe...

    Ouch, that's not good!

So in OwnerRez, you can click on the payment and refund it -- all of those operations are available in OwnerRez without dropping to your merchant gateway account. You can also void it if it hasn't settled yet but it's probably too late for that if it happened yesterday.

However, it's likely that refund will error if they've already canceled the payment on their end. What's...

Yes, you can do this. I do this--I have one agreement for Airbnb, another for other channels that process their own charges (e.g. TripAdvisor), and a third for direct bookings and channels where I process the credit card directly (e.g. Vrbo).

The official documentation is here:  (/support/articles/renter-legal...

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking here.  Are you asking if there is a way to have a "list your rental on our site" page that has a data entry form that inputs to Owner Rez?  If so, no there is no feature like that which I've seen.  Something like that would probably be best with a plugin for your site or something coded to go into your database.  Something like that, you're looking at a subs...

There is no restriction on the number of properties to use Lynnbrook. You can have 1 property and many users do.

There is a lot of confusion around this topic. Lynnbrook used to recommend using a different processor for users with very low processing volume because there are minimum costs to having a real underwritten merchant account, and Lynnbrook has to pass that cost along to the merchant....
