Vrbo Becomes an Only Child, Tag Columns on Exports, New Import for Owners
5 years ago...everybody, time to talk updates! This week, we've got a tidy little set of updates (about 16) to go through, all of which are enhancements or bug fixes. No new features to talk about, but the little stuff is important too! 💪
* Enhancements & Tweaks
* Bug Fixes Enhancements & TweaksThis was a small housekeeping week, so let's hop from lily pad to lily pad here in no particular order...

Daniel H in response to: Avoid same-day turnovers on certain days (i.e. holidays)
1 year agoI have a similar issue that this or a similar solution might work for...However, I use PriceLabs to handle pricing so that may be a nonstarter here, depending on how this stuff feeds to the different channels (especially Airbnb).
I am trying to prohibit check in/out on Saturdays...my new cleaner wants one day off per week...Plus I'd prefer if guests didn't split my weekends.
This seemed simple...

Emails not being sent to Airbnb guest with API connection
5 years ago...booking for this Friday. Went today to see why I haven't received a signed rental agreement and discovered my email was never sent even though it is set up as a trigger. Went reading through the help stuff and saw this
"If you are using an API connection to Airbnb, TripAdvisor, CanadaStays, or Booking.com - the API connection will not give you the guest's real email address. They only give you a fa...

Michelle J in response to: Next Sprint
14 years agoSmall stuff, and it's going to be fast. Mostly small tweaks, grammar fixes, enhancements. Your request to have a fixed amount for the first payment was included.

UstlcRentals in response to: House Rules as a field for Rental Agreements (& Emails)
3 years ago...my properties is a houseboat with special requirements, like flip a switch on when you shower to drain water from boat or its a step 50 stair climb that Guests must be able to walk. I emphasize this stuff several times in listing and in house rules but so many guests argue they never saw anything about it any of it. With the rules on the agreement they sign, I feel it would give more support for me on... -
Lydia B in response to: Adding a PDF file to an Email Template
6 years agoPerfect! I'm never quite sure where to look for stuff. Thank you. -
Rich S in response to: Task Reminders (linked to bookings)
6 years ago@Valerie - I think it's best to post requests for feature changes in the other forum, makes it easier for the OR team to not overlook it.
I agree with your comments, there is a lot of value in keeping short term rental stuff all in one place.

Chris Hynes in response to: Unit Number
7 years agoWe include a bunch of extra stuff like UnitNumber in the Channel Bridge export, but that's not currently used anywhere in OwnerRez.
Right now, the mapping is based off of ListingNumber and you can set that mapping in the property settings of the synced channel.

Chris Hynes in response to: Facebook Pixel Conversion Tracking
9 years agoInteresting coincidence -- I was just looking at the FB pixel tracking stuff the other day. We should be able to implement that similar to how the Google Analytics integration is done -- you put your FB id in user settings, and then we render the code for different events.
GA renders the following right now:
- pageview on widget view, quote accept (checkout) pages, one-off payment pages, hosted websit... -
Paul W in response to: How do I remove the OwnerRez "Is this an inquiry?" banner from all my incoming emails?
5 years ago...t will come back to OwnerRez.
We have a long-planned update coming (no ETA) to unify the messaging around the guest conversation and provide 2 way email there along with your other SMS and channel stuff. The inquiry records will come into there as well.

Chris Hynes in response to: Avoid same-day turnovers on certain days (i.e. holidays)
7 years agoYep, that's the best way to do that for now. We've got some ideas about how to make more general event blocks for stuff like this or general prep time rules on the todo list. -
Paul W in response to: Discount codes
7 years agoNo movement yet - sorry. We're hot on a bunch of other stuff right now like channels, QB, SMS and TI. Channels are 75% of it. Lots of small tweaks and adjustments as well. We do about 3-4 minor releases every *week* around here. 😜 -
Paul W in response to: Sync on demand
7 years agoThat actually exists already, though it's a bit buried. Go to the property > calendar import > click the calendar import (VRBO or Air) and then click the Sync Now button. To be clear, this is only for pulling stuff INTO OwnerRez, not pushing out to other sites. -
Chris Hynes in response to: Trying to get clear on Channel Bridge, Direct Integrations, iCal setup on OR.
7 years ago...more news on that by the end of the year
Channel bridge...
- VRBO and Airbnb it will pull bookings (full guest info, full financials including detailed invoices and payments, not just the simplified stuff)
- VRBO, Airbnb, TA it will pull reviews
- Rates push coming for VRBO and Airbnb by the end of the year, possibly TA as well
- Content push coming for VRBO and Airbnb in the next few months
- Manual... -
Randy Juneau in response to: Interactive Calendar
10 years ago...have 1 page to go to that I can see all unit's availability AND do a quote without having to navigate all over. Just a suggestion since personal devices are being used more now than computers to buy stuff online. It makes it a lot easier for the traveler as well to have just one page to see and use. Just add it to my wish list!! Thanks! :-) -
Paul W in response to: Unveiling Schlage Door Locks Powered by OwnerRez, Accompanied by Some Creepy Crawly Fixes!
2 years ago.../347379669) – Nov 1, 2023 3:16 PM (UTC)
We are changing it to use the name. The feedback on that has been overwhelming and the use case is pretty obvious. The OwnerRez engineer working on lock stuff is already actively working on putting that in place.

Paul W in response to: Unveiling Schlage Door Locks Powered by OwnerRez, Accompanied by Some Creepy Crawly Fixes!
2 years ago...the weeds on that part first.
Before Inbox cleanup, we've had to clean up messaging features (like Autoresponder) and work our way through some of the side features so that we can get to the main stuff. That, too, has already been underway for a while.
Our PM system has a large V2 about to drop that we've been working on for 2 years which changes a number of significant things around commissio...

Paul W in response to: Unveiling Schlage Door Locks Powered by OwnerRez, Accompanied by Some Creepy Crawly Fixes!
2 years ago...- it's the same as every other lock integration.
Here's a quick pic of us testing it:
(Ignore the purple buttons. That's extra stuff that only OR staff can see.)
We created two different locks and associated them with the same property and set "random" as the code generation setting. We created a booking, and, as you can see,...

BlueMtnCabins in response to: Hawaii Vacation Rentals Outperform Hotels, Top Places To Buy Vacation Rentals, Oregon Climate Emergency, Shortyz Awards
5 years agoevery time I read the "best cities" type of stuff, I chuckle. Who TH will buy in Cleveland as a VR? People are fleeing big cities in droves for a number of reasons. And several places on the list I have never even head of.. and probably neither did the tourists.
Climate emergency? it is mostly called "weather". On the other hand, they should get busy stopping CHINA, not Oregon, from polluting, if the... -
Ken T in response to: Creating a Trigger to send an email based on a Custom Field
6 years agoThat's... brilliant. Insane, but brilliant. :-0
Now I need to go somewhere quiet for a bit and ponder the meaning of life. :-)
We're planning on upgrading the triggers so you won't have to do screwy stuff like this. But for now that's not actually a bad scheme. Might potentially cause some confusion with your API connections if you have any.
