There are fonts and colors available for hosted sites, including the Google font library, that are not available for the description overrides that feed into hosted sites.
Please add additional fonts in the overrides to match selections for the hosted sites, and add the ability to choose custom colors for fonts and backgrounds.
This is to help us ensure brand consistency across hosted sites.
Thank you!
Hi Nicole,
Could you provide us with a screenshot to go along with this request? I'm having a little trouble understanding what you're looking at / for.
You can change the font of your website in the hosted site's Theme & Layout settings. Testing in my own account, changing the font there also changes the font of the descriptions for each property. You can also adjust text colors in the same area.
Unless I'm missing something, which isn't out of the question, you make changes to description layout within the OwnerRez override you must create, otherwise it will pull the text in as the default description with no layout other than the font/color selected in the Theme/Layout section. Headings, subheadings, etc go away.
I understand that layout changes can be made with CSS/HTML changes, but there should be more customizable options in the override to allow those changes to be made without having to change CSS/HTML
The same goes for making changes to the footer in the theme/layout section, unless I were to add an image vs adding text or inserting a field.
Ah! I understand now.
Great suggestion—thanks for submitting! Know anyone else who'd want this? Send them the link so they can add their vote and show there's interest in making this happen.
I can send this along to others, but this seems like a consistency issue in OR, whether or not others are looking for this to be implemented, that should be corrected.
It should be added as a feature to ensure we are able to stay on brand throughout our website, not just in a couple of places or when code is changed.
This is also true throughout the pages section. All editable content on the hosted sites should allow for custom changes to the fonts and colors as shown in the theme & layout section without the need to change HTML/CSS. Currently, you need to change code in order to make those changes.
Please add this feature throughout!
Hi Bri! How many votes does something need in order for a fix to be put in place?
Thanks!
Hi Nicole,
Rather than having a specific vote threshold, we use votes to help us understand where there's the strongest demand across all requests in the forum. I want to acknowledge that while this isn't a bug requiring an immediate fix, it's absolutely a valid Feature Request.
We do have plans for enhancements to Hosted Sites in 2026, and I've shared your feedback with the rest of our Product team for consideration in future releases. While I can't make any promises about specific features or timelines, please know that your input is valued and will be part of our planning discussions.
I really appreciate you taking the time to share this with us!
Thanks, Bri!
Hi Nicole,
I spent some time discussing this with our engineers and wanted to clarify how the description formatting works with hosted website themes and hopefully provide a solution that works for you.
When you manually select colors or fonts in the property description editor, it creates inline styles that take precedence over your hosted website theme settings. This is why your theme colors aren't showing up in your descriptions even though they're applied elsewhere on your site.
The fix is to use the clear formatting button (Tx button) in the description editor to remove the inline styles. Once you clear the formatting, your descriptions will automatically inherit the colors and fonts from your hosted website theme settings.
The reason it works this way is that property descriptions are designed to be flexible across different platforms (hosted sites, WordPress, etc.), so any manual formatting you apply takes precedence. To have your hosted website theme control the appearance, the descriptions need to be free of inline styling.
We're creating documentation to make this behavior and solution clearer for future reference. If you have multiple properties that need updating, you'll need to use the clear formatting button on each one to remove the inline styles.
Let me know if you have any questions or if this doesn't resolve the issue for you!
