    ...New Features

Our rate system has undergone a number of major changes over the years. In fact, check out the original rates announcement from more than 10 years ago! A week later, we talked about recurring and specific-date seasons for the first time, though they were actually called "rate overrides" at the time. Wow, those posts make me feel old.

Over the following years, we changed that to a list...

We got great feedback on the Gallimaufry post from June, so I figured it should become a recurring series. We do announcement posts for the larger features, but there are so many small ones that can get lost in the chatter if they're not called out and recognized.

Gallimaufry (n): A collection or hodgepodge of things with no apparent unifying theme.

First, the big features we've already announced over...

Rate table for 7 night season that overlaps the current month. This is an interesting one that will make your head spin thinking about it! If there was a recurring season that started last month and finished before today, and that season had a 7-night minimum requirement, and that season length was such that there were less than seven nights in the current mont...

The import expense options is a great help in the interim... and I'm looking forward to the ability to add recurring expenses!

I am just setting up my account and was searching for how to do this. Such a shame it isn't there already. I need to set up a recurring charge to cover the changeover clean after each booking. We employ our own cleaners so need to take this expense from the owner statement and pay it to ourselves for each booking. We have the ability to do this in our current system, and this is the first thing I've fo...

I just came here to request this as well. I would love to set up all my monthly charges as recurring. Even just an option to duplicate a past expense would be helpful!

Have you made any progress on this? Recurring expenses are needed

Yes, it is on the roadmap for 2023! We're doing some other large PM expenses work first to make way for recurring ones. There is already a request thread for it though, so closing this one.

At the very least, you could add it as an automated recurring expense for all bookings on that channel (configured via the settings). The VRBO pay per book commission always comes out to exactly the sum of my base rate and my cleaning fee times 5%. So it’s pret...

Getting confused. I have seasons set up by specific dates. And these seasons appear in season rates. I went to update Thanksgiving season and changed the dates to 2019 versus 2018. I saved as recurring. It's not showing in season rates. I then created a new season specific dates and called it Thanksgiving with 2019 dates. This also is not showing in season rates. What am I not doing? Thanks.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

We do not currently support repeating triggers because it can get very spammy. Consider someone who sets up a "daily" recurring trigger for 30 days before arrival with no criteria! The guest would simply get spammed every day with no way to stop it. 🙀

We have discussed recurring triggers before, but no ETA on that at this time. We want to make sure we do it right with the prop...

@Gabriel - Yep, a video is in the works. It's super simple, though, as you can see from the quick recording above.

@Kismet - With the new system, it'll prioritize specific dates seasons over recurring seasons and shorter seasons over longer seasons -- in our experience that handles 99% of the prioritization needs.

    Will that work for you?

@Ann-Tyler - Yep, you configure both the night and the weekend nig...

Because the event changes dates yearly, you can't really set up a recurring Season, as those are based on dates that do not change. Spot Rates is the correct way to deal with this, because you can specifically select whatever the dates are in any given year.

Joshua, it depends on the holiday. Many holidays change dates every year so recurring seasons wouldn't work.  Also, you have to have a 1 day season in order for that to work which is tedious.  Setting it on "the entire Christmas" holiday period (eg. 5 or 10 days) typically doesn't work because that means that no one can arrive/departure on any of the days of that season.  You typically want to pinpoint som...

While there is no way (just yet) to automatically log a recurring monthly expense, you can log an expense to an owner or a property -- not just to a booking. Go to PM > Expenses and there you can add an expense that's assigned to an owner or a property.
