...rrez.com/vacation-rental-channel-manager best channel manager in the vacation rental industry, we do a lot of work on monitoring and improving our channel connections. While we can't work on channel stuff every week, we constantly make notes so that we can jump on improvements when the time allows. Not a month goes by when we aren't making channel updates. In this release, we hit a couple of things w...

We released an update earlier today that was mostly aboutProperty Management stuff, but we slipped in a couple things for emailing that will make your life a lot easier. We have a lot ofchanges coming for guest communication - responding toinquiries, dealing with guest responses, capturing a timeline/thread of everything - but we wanted to fix a problem that has been frustrating users for awhile.

Yep, those things. And yes, we've known about it too. To make matters worse, as you keep clicking stuff, new pop-over cards would open even though the old ones didn't close. You had to click on the same link as before to close a single card. We finally had enough and fixed this. It is much easier no...

True. But the ARDI coverage here is $20 for $1000. This is $29 for $10,000 plus a lot of other stuff.

HomeAway is trying to get people to elect $49 pdp. This is much better compared to that.

...sheets, etc - all are never more than a few hundred bucks at most. Having 10 grand of coverage is pointless if you never use all that.

PS. Our regular HOI insurance on the houses covers really big stuff with a 500/1000 deductible (and short term renter/liability is specifically mentioned as a named coverage) so anything that would be 10 grand we can cover with that.

Would it be stepping over the line to alert people to three free days of webinars from vacation rental industry experts? It is free, and I did this last year. And I didn't sign up for any paid version of it. No I have nothing to do with it. I just got an email about this year's version

Most people can learn a huge amount about vacation rental stuff from this.

I highly recommend talking to Ximplify who we started partnering with for accounting stuff awhile back. We push PMs, large and small, in their direction. Good folks over there who know how to use OwnerRez, QuickBooks and a lot more . We are working with them a lot on expanding our QB integration to many more things and change accounting models to be more correct in general.

...oment, our reporting/analytics features have not yet been released. It's a very high priority item, but we've had to push it back for higher priority items. At the moment, we're working on a lot of stuff related to email.

If you collect credit card payments, your gateway/merchant account provider offers some basic reporting though only about basic credit card transaction and batches.

    2) For amenities, we've thought about that but the problem is if we put it in a widget then it's going to affect the SEO on your site. Google doesn't search stuff in widgets as well as they do things that are written out directly on the site which is why we've so far avoided making widgets for the content parts that you do want to SEO.

    - the email(s) you got as both the guest and owner and their language
    - the renter agreement you signed
    - the charges and amounts you paid
    - the rules about when future stuff will be collected
    - the trigger emails that are set to go out on the booking

And then adjust what you don't like.

You can always Void & Delete the credit card payment so that it doesn't go to settl...

Online transactions like vacation rentals, especially card not present, are probably in the high risk category. Think Lynbrook specialized in VRs. Maybe openedge not. This kind of stuff may only get worse.

Good question. I'd set it up in OwnerRez but not the listing content (descriptions, amenities, photos, location stuff). Then put a basic property record in place so that you can play with it and get rates right or whatever else. Then later fill out your VRBO listing and import that into OwnerRez. If you move to our HomeAway API coming up, we can push your OwnerRez property data into VRBO directly a...

We are looking into this. A recent change to Channel Bridge was made to help with HomeAway logins and it looks like we may be classifying all VRBO stuff as HomeAway now. This is pending.

    - Host fee is used to track stuff like booking site commissions so it's not exactly matching a management fee but it's the best way to keep those separate. If you put in a discount, you'd end up with a lower total showing up in repor...
