I am currently using the embedded availability calendar widget on my website for guests, owners, and housekeepers to view. However, there are a few core limitations that make managing schedules difficult.
I would like to request the following two features for the widget calendars:
Ability to show past reservations (and view previous months): Currently, past dates automatically advance to show as blocked/grayed out. This prevents housekeepers and owners from looking back to see what was booked earlier in the month. We need an option to allow past reservation history to remain visible.
Visual booking/reservation breaks: Right now, back-to-back bookings show as one solid block of color. There is no visual distinction or gap on the widget showing where one guest check-out ends and the next check-in begins, which makes it incredibly confusing to read.
Our internal "Month View" calendar within OwnerRez handles both of these beautifully. It would be a massive improvement if these same capabilities could be "turned on" or customized for the public-facing widgets.

Both of these are great ideas. As a property management company, we always want to be completely transparent with our owners. However, our recent switch to OwnerRez has caused some friction with a few clients over this. While we eventually want everyone using the owner portal, forcing it right now will just strain those relationships. Coming from an IT background, I love secure logins, but I also know that new technology can be a real headache for some people. We want to keep everyone in the loop without forcing a mandatory tech change that pushes owners away.
Additionally, adding a line break to the calendar will really help take the pressure off our housekeepers. And not just them, but we get flooded with early check-in requests frequently during the summer, and often those guests have checked the calendar before calling. If guests can clearly see they are checking in right after a two-week stay, they might think twice before asking. It probably won't stop most calls, but anything that helps cut down on that phone volume is a huge win.

Thank you Katie. All of our property owners, office staff, maintenance, contractors, housekeeping staff, along with all of our potential guests would greatly benefit from an availability calendar that shows the reservation breaks, and has the ability to show the previous month.
What is the "magic number" of upvotes does a suggestion need before action is taken?
Can anyone upvote this, or do they have to have an OwnerRez account?
