    ...when quote (as "special offer") was created, it did not look like it had 10% upcharge. I ran a "channel rate tester" and that showed correct amount with upcharge. "Special offer" quote:

    ...mum night gap rules is to make gaps bookable that otherwise wouldn't be bookable because of the min night rules by reducing the number of nights.

    So if you have a 3 night gap and your min nights are 2 during that period, or 3, then a gap night rule will do nothing because the gap is not shorter than the minimum nights.

    But if you have a 3 night gap and a 4 night min, then a 2 nights in gaps rule...

    I think you are conflating 2 terms.
    1. Damage deposit (traditional) - amount added to the total as non-taxable , and refunded by you after stay if everything checks out. I define this as additional flat fee (in my case $300, non taxable, shown below tax item on quotes). Once stay is done, I manually issue a "refund" for that amount that goes to guests's cc.

    $700 rent + $50 cleaning fee + 8.875% tax collected by VRBO ($66.56)
