Enable Date Selection on Embedded Availability Calendars

On our Ownerrez hosted  website's availability calendar/widget, guests attempt to click on available dates intending to start the booking process for the specific unit displayed. However, the current embedded calendar is static and non-interactive, so nothing happens when they click.

Our website analytics (tracked with Microsoft Clarity) show this causes guest frustration and abandonment—visitors click the availability calendar, expecting to begin booking, find no response, and leave the page.

We request that our embedded availability calendar be made interactive so that:

1. Guests can click on available dates in the calendar for each unit
2. Clicking an available date opens the Ownerrez booking/quote flow for that specific unit with the selected dates pre-populated
3. This matches the functionality already available in the owner portal

This feature would significantly improve our conversion rates by reducing friction in the guest booking journey and keeping interested visitors engaged on our website.

Calendar widget interaction issues: Multiple visitors interacted with the multiple-month calendar widgets for both Unit 707 and Unit 1006, triggering numerous dead clicks and rage clicks without progressing to booking. This suggests possible unresponsive navigation controls or unclear affordances; improving click targets and feedback could reduce frustration

High frequency of dead/rage clicks on embedded calendar widgets: Multiple users interacted with the OwnerRez multiple month and ribbon calendar widgets for units 707 and 1006, producing repeated dead clicks and in some cases rage click bursts without navigation changes. This suggests that date selection or navigation controls within these widgets may not be responding as expected; improving responsiveness could reduce repeated clicking

We are experiencing guest frustration with this as well. We would like the OwnerRez website availability to only show available dates for each property and also only highlight the dates available for arrival and departure. For example, we often restrict arrival and departure dates in our high season but since OR website is not dynamic like Airbnb's, guest's click around and receive the alert "arrival is not allowed on this date" or "departure is not allowed on this date". Since they do not know when arrival or departure is allowed they become frustrated and move on, leading to lower conversion rates and greater user frustration. 

Additionally, Ownerrez's calendar will actually show all gaps in our calendar even when they are not bookable. For example, a 1 night or 2 night gap will appear bookable on our website but isn't. There is no reason for them to be appearing as bookable. Instead, this function would account for your property restrictions and only show bookable dates to prospective renters, leading to less frustration and greater conversion for all OR website users. 

I feel like in an increasingly on demand world, where guests want instant service this should be high priority for OwnerRez. With more hosts placing a focus on direct bookings worldwide, this would help all Ownerrez user's level up to where platform's are and align everyone to this common goal.

This is BASIC functionality.  Many prospective guests won't waste their time trying to figure out what is available and then book using a clunky booking form.  I believe many owners are not using owner rez because this feature is lacking.  Time to get it fixed and enter the modern age!

You're talking about the Multi Month calendar widget on the individual property pages on a multi-property Hosted site, is that correct?

Taking a look at your Hosted test location, it looks like you were able to find a way to make it clickable so that a booking widget pops up. How is that working for you? Would you be willing to share what you did behind the scenes there so that other users may benefit from this as well?

Your request is more than valid. It does remain open for voting. To be candid though, this falls fairly low on our priority list relative to other work in progress at this time. If that changes, I will follow up here in this thread.

Well i did write a code and i was able to provide the functinality but still a short cut not a permanant solution. Recently  i did in fact do somhing better ( at least i think it is better ) and create the calnder totally clickable  and it works super fine :) i now can custimze any format i want :)
