Schlage Door Codes - Improve how these are added to message templates via field codes

I recently dropped RemoteLock for the direct Schlage integration. It all works seamlessly and as expected... except for this one thing. When inserting the door code in message templates (using any of the field codes OR has available for this), it now includes the internal name of the property door/lock AND doubles it up when there is more than one lock at a rental. For example:

This is clunky and adds unnecessary confusion for guests.

As a comparison, this is how the exact same message appeared with the RemoteLock integration (same property, different guest) -- which not only looks better but is a much simpler and clear read for the guests:

My request is two-fold:

1. Remove the internal property/door lock name when displaying the code number for guests -- or at least make it optional in case some hosts do prefer it this way.

2. When there are multiple doors at a property that all share the same code, only display it once. (Again, this could easily be optional in case anyone does prefer it the way you display it now.)

I would look at your settings. I have Schlage and it sends the door code, but doesn't include the lock name.  Mine looks just like your second message.

It handles single-lock properties just fine — it’s only when there are multiple locks at a property (front/back doors) where it gets clunky. I’m assuming yours that you’re referring to is a property with only one lock?

So thankful to see this addressed in the October product updates

I would like to still request the ability to assign a public name for the locks as it currently inserts our own internal lock identifier name into the message templates to guests. (Or, alternatively, the option to remove the name and only insert the actual code.)

Hi Alece,

I believe we've satisfied this request to the best of our ability at this time.

As of today, if you have multiple locks on the same booking that all use the same code, like this:

The door lock relevant field codes you use in your templates should just display the digits, not the lock names.

If you have multiple locks on the same booking and there are some codes different than others though, the names of the locks will still be displayed so that the guest understands there's a distinction between the locks and codes provided.

Yes! I acknowledged that that portion of the request has been addressed -- thank you!

The second part of my request was for the internal property/door lock name not to be displayed in messages to guests -- or to provide us a way to set an external/public name for the locks which would be inserted instead. That still remains an issue.

Today's release should prevent the name of the locks showing if, only if, all lock codes for that booking are the same. So if you have a guest with two different locks but the same code on both, only the number should display.

But if you've got multiple locks associated with the same booking, some of which do not have the same code in use, the lock names still display.

The change released in October consolidated codes that were the same across multiple locks on the same booking, but it was still showing the names of those locks in every event.
