Integration With TripSkip

We’re excited to announce our new channel integration with TripSkip, a direct-booking marketplace that gives OwnerRez users a new way to reach guests and grow direct bookings, commission-free.

About TripSkip

TripSkip is a direct booking marketplace built for hosts who are tired of paying a percentage of every reservation. Travelers browse and discover properties on TripSkip, then click through to book on the host's own booking page, so the reservation, the payment, and the guest relationship all stay with the host. TripSkip never touches the payment and never takes a cut of the booking. Hosts pay one flat annual membership fee instead, starting at $49 per year, and connect their OwnerRez account to publish the listings they already manage there.

Pricing

TripSkip charges hosts a flat annual membership. No commission on any booking and no guest service fee.

  • Founders, $49 per year, unlimited active listings, limited to the first 5,000 host accounts, rate locked while the subscription stays active.
  • Growth, $199 per year, up to 50 active listings.
  • Pro, $399 per year, up to 99 active listings.
  • Enterprise, custom pricing for portfolios of 100 listings and up, with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and white-label options.

Every plan includes direct booking redirects, the analytics dashboard, custom short URLs, and email support. View full pricing info here.

We just signed up as Founders and hope this gives guests an excellent alternative. Curious to see how they market themselves (hopefully aggressively) in this current environment. Was just saying that someone needs to jump in and fill the gaping hole of platforms that seem to be unapologetically monopolized and characterized by wallet syphoning fees and anger management worthy conditions. Go get'um TripSkip!

I agree David. I think now is a perfect time to attack AirBnB and VRBO and send them a message. This winter, I will be definitely researching alternative platforms. Trip Skip looks interesting. I’ll be watching them.

VRBO and Airbnb have shifted all of the exorbitant fee burden from guests to owners, changing the competitive landscape and dynamics. As platform fees become invisible to travelers, guests have much less or no incentive to seek alternatives simply to avoid those fees. Since guests choose where to book, platforms like SkipTrip must now focus on promoting lower total rental costs and better value, rather than emphasizing the elimination of Airbnb/VRBO service fees. For direct-promotion to be successful in this new environment, travelers must be educated to compare the total final price they pay and not simply what fees are charged to them up front.

I like this idea of TripSkip and great that OwnerRez was quick to partner and integrate to it but it feels like a 50$ gamble into another Houfy where I've had no success. Its more or less a central directory of our direct book sites.

TripSkip is lacking calendar integration / search, a core feature of airbnb/vrbo searchability. Hoping this is on the immediate company radar along with other property feature filters.

We should ask: What is TripSkip's plan for advertising and making its platform relevant, known, and search engine optimized?

If anyone knows more I feel like ownerrez hosts might more readily adopt it.

This feels like rolling the clock back, but in a good way. After over 20 years in the vacation rental industry we have found it very hard to relinquish even more control over the properties that we own, maintain and insure to the OTA's We understand they don't wish to lose control over what they are their guests, but we are getting to a point where we have so little information that it is difficult for us to communicate and assist our guests in a fabulous stay. This also raises the question public safety. Thanks to Ownerrez we haven't completely lost control, but the OTA's are doing their best to minimise their responsibility and eliminate as much personal contact as they can.
