Meet Teara Galbraith, founder of Visit Island Park Idaho, and an OwnerRez user since 2019. Driven by a love for travel and the outdoors, Teara has built a portfolio of eight properties focused on helping guests discover the area’s natural beauty.

Can you tell us a little bit about your history?

I’m a programmer and developer, with experience in souvenir shop sales and portrait photography. Property management was not my original career path. I was always a traveler, and over time, I bought property in an area I loved and planned to retire in.

Are you from the geographical area where your properties are located, or did you move there later?

I’m from an area not too far from where my properties are located, and one of the biggest things I love about it is being so close to national parks and nature. That connection to the outdoors is a huge part of both my personal life and my business.

What do you love most about the vacation rental business?

What I love most about the vacation rental business is the opportunity to share with others the chance to experience so many amazing things in nature. It is rewarding to help guests discover the area's beauty and create memorable stays.

What do you dislike the most about it?

What I like least is dealing with rude or high-maintenance guests, which can sometimes take away from the experience of hosting.

How do you use OwnerRez to manage your business?

I use OwnerRez to help manage communication and property management for my business. The most useful features for me are the communication tools and the ability to integrate with other companies, such as TouchStay. I also appreciate the fact that the platform clearly understands the needs of short-term rental owners.
