Today the system supports Adult and Child guests. We have 3 rate tiers: Adult, Child and Infant.
Feature Request: Add Infant as a guest type (or a user-definable guest type) and allow me to create a different surcharge/add-on for that guest type. Pets is an example that works -- I'd be happy if I could just change the name from Pets to Infants.
Yes, this would be good. It should also be a tag in the message system. Right now if a guest books with an infant, the infant does not show on any confirmation emails, which has lead to some confusion.
Yes I am also having same problem where infants are not being included in any confirmations emails from airbnb bookings leading to confusion.
Is there a Field that picks up the airbnb infant count?
Hi Annie,
For Airbnb we have a small article here you may find helpful, https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/channel-management-api-integrations-airbnb-common-issues-questions#age-limit

We would love the ability to bring the Airbnb infant count over to Ownerrez so we could build triggers off of this. Infants often require special considerations such as pack&play, crib, sound machines, toys, crib sheets etc. This is something we want to automate a message to send to guests asking if they need anything special at the property or set up at their arrival. It's easy to miss these infants and get a surprise when they arrive at 10pm and need a special setup we hadn't clarified prior. This would be visible in the guest count as adult/child/infant/pet as well as a criteria for triggers we can select on. Thanks
+1 for this
Also, can OR please comment on the Infant count that AirBnB collects if it is available to the API and if not if this is the reason why it has not been implemented in OR
Irrespective, this would be a great addition to have in OR data, even if we have to add it manually after we find out. It will really help manage guest limits and charges for extra guests.
I realize that this small change touches a lot of pieces in the system - AirBnB integration, max guest calcs and rules for sending max guests to different platforms as they all have a different approach but it would be extremely helpful.
It would be great to get an update from OR on this request and its challenges.
PS the UI should define infants as "Under 2" like AirBnB and the airlines

Airbnb does send us infant count via the API when a booking is added, assuming the guest has included them during the reservation process. You'd see that noted as Airbnb Infants on the booking's Overview tab, like so:
@Bri -- For our purposes, it would be helpful if that Infant count was added to the Children count within the booking OR make it available as part of the guest count in field codes. As it stands now, when our automated messages go out to confirm group size, it excludes the infant entirely. In the example you showed above, the email to the guest would say "we're confirming you have 12 adults and 4 children"... when in fact it's 5 children or 4 children + 1 infant. Creates confusion and friction for us/guests.

We've consolidated our top 3 Infant related Feature Requests to reflect what needs to happen behind the scenes to make these requests possible, which is supporting infants across the system as a whole. This would include a new guest type, field code applicability, trigger conditions, and so on.
We're waiting on roadmap space to open up to be able to fit this work in. I'm hopeful for 2026.
