Personally I do not see the big deal. Once the renter is booked, you have their email/phone in OR. OR sends templated emails/SMS to the renter contact. Don't see a need for cumbersome vrbo to be involved past the boking stage.

Yep, definitely a great idea to increase the number of places and ways that custom fields can be referenced. Something we want to do -- particularly the house rules templating. That might be able to be solved by a simple HTML > plain text conversion or even a text only version that you can configure.

We've got many custom field enhancements on the roadmap, but no ETA as of yet :-/.

Yes, the new layout is a recent update. We're definitely going to continue refining and tightening up the new layout -- you'll see more updates in the coming weeks.

I frequently use the export/import function to update the HEADLINE of our property to promote discount etc.

It was probably over a year ago that I made a FEATURE REQUEST to allow the descriptions to be updated so that I could update it to include special etc. It would also provide a means to standardize descriptions for accounts with a large number of properties.

So I would like to "re" suggest this enhancement which is basically a request to increase the number of columns that are included in the current export / import for properties.

What happened to the rate calendar?
It was perfect for editing rates both on mobile and desktop.
Now it's needlessly huge, so you can only see 3 weeks at the best. Hard to scroll, select, and it's hard for eyes no matter if it's mobile or PC.
Please turn it back to old look.

I've taken the time to go through my Legal Agreements and insert Custom Fields where policies differ by property (e.g. I have a custom pet policy set up in each property that gets automatically merged into the Legal Agreement as applicable). It works great.

However, I still have to comb through and custom-write the House Rules section for each of my properties so the correct verbiage for that property shows up in the House Rules section (especially for Airbnb)

It would be much better if we could use Custom Field merge codes in the House Rules sections of each property.

I know there may be some breakage due to reformatting rich text Custom Fields as plain text; if it would be easier, I'd be fine limiting the House Rules to only allow merging custom fields that are plain text.

What would actually be amazing is if the Airbnb channel's House Rules could automatically be created based off of the Legal Agreement that applies to the Airbnb channel (since Airbnb only allows us to ask for legal agreements if the full text is specified in the House Rules section), but I know there's likely too much potential for breakage due to formatting, but simply allowing merge codes to be used would greatly simplify administration.

As far as I know, the only Venmo API is through Braintree. We do support the Braintree gateway, but only for credit cards right now. We may add support for other non-card methods that Braintree supports at some point, but that involves converting to a completely different API, so it's a large effort.

ID upload is still in the works -- it's part of a much larger renter agreement overhaul to make agreements more powerful, more mobile friendly, and add additional custom field types like files, images, and guest lists.

We're definitely aware of the need, but we want to get it done right.

I love the disallow gaps feature, and I would like to set it for future reservations but want to have an option to disable “disallow gaps 7-21 days before check-in and allow all bookings.
I see a lot of value in this simple option. Is it possible to request it. Does others see the value?

Yes I know you can specify in special instructions. I was wondering if you could make an API-integrated seamless at check out. They may have an API now? This is by far the most requested feature and, Paul W, back in March you acknowledged that its importance to your customers. Since then, I and several others have requested an update on this.

Ken has indicated that a third party verification solution is in the works instead, which is not the requested solution.

All we want is a simple means for guests to upload photos of their IDs. Can you please provide us with an update on this?

Unfortunately, as popular as this request is, it is dependent on work being done by Vrbo to support our integration with this function - and this keeps getting delayed. :-( We talk with them about it at least every month, and we're top of the list for beta testing once it's available, but at present we still do not have a reliable ETA.

It's so important for them to integrate this capability with OwnerRez. When scaling vacation rentals, as I am, it becomes more and more apparent of the need. This is particularly so when most of the bookings and guest interaction I receive occurs from other hosting platforms so I can (and do) use OwnerRez far more than the native VRBO app. In other words, I'll spend less and less time with the native VRBO app and it's messaging capabilities because I won't need them as much as the others.

When I do need it, it's a huge pain to have to switch up and move from my current functioning systems in place.

Hi, we also manage both short and long term renals and I think this is becoming more and more common with Covid and the large number of people who are now free to work online from anywhere.

We have tried using OR for long term rentals, by entering Rent as the total of the 12 monthlys rent amounts combined, then we created a payment schedule that breaks the full-year amount into 12 monthly payments however the system does not allow us to set up reminders for the upcoming payments due (monthly rent) the reminder only allows us to remind the guest/renter of the full remaining amount owing, which is of course confusing. Each month we want to email them a reminder of their next monthly rent payment which is due.

I think creating a "next payment due amount" and a "next payment due on (date)" fields would help make the system more flexible for longer-term and yearly rentals.

Also, a field that inserted all future scheduled payments would also be helpful - currently, you can only include all past payments.

If you have any other ideas on how long term rentals can be successfully implemented with the current set up I woudl love to hear about it. We are open to any and all ideas.

Yes please, we have many reoccurring monthly expenses that we need to pass on to owners. Having this feature would be such a big help.
We would also like to be able to charge expenses directly to the Guest through the Expenses tab under Bookings. This would allow us to charge guests for extra services like additional cleaning, grocery delivery etc. Or in the case of long term renters, we could charge cable and internet and other utilities that are consistent month to month.

I can't count how many times I've had a filtered ribbon view looking for a guest that still owes or that we owe a refund to, etc... and instead of RIGHT clicking on the booking and opening it in a new window I click on it, it opens and then I have to refilter. I'd love to have the filtered view be a "sticky" filter until I click on a button or something that resets the filters.

Not an app but a "guest view" via a webpage with a unique URL that could be sent to them specific to their booking... Things that they could access from the unique webpage might include:
1. Property Details Page from the website
2. A guest view of the Booking - Unit Details / Pricing / Payments, etc...
3. For direct website bookings the ability to Cancel (following rules similar to OTAs for cancellation and refunds)
4. The ability for them to add or remove Optional Surcharges and Discounts - add a pet fee, add a returning guest discount, etc..
4. Property Specific Information and Videos - perhaps through custom property fields that are grouped with a tag. We would like to support videos here.

We like it seems everyone else love TAGS, but we find it frustrating when we go to add a TAG only to find out that Tag does not exists. We wish there was a way to create a tag on the fly right there in the pull-down list.

We also wish we could assign Tags to one, more than one or all areas of Owner Rez. For example, the TAG "Frequent Customer" would not need to be on the Tags lists for Properties and the "Pet Friendly" Tag does not need to be available on the Tags list for CRM customers. Being able to choose where TAGs appear would keep the tags lists much less cluttered.

Our company provides both vacation rental management and property management services, so not all of the properties in our OR database are actually available for rent. (Although the non-renting properties do get used by the Owners and their friends and family)
There is currently no way for us to permanently exclude the non-rental properties from the Properties list or Bookings Page so we "workaround" this by Blocking them off for months and months so they don't get booked by accident.
But this leaves our Bookings Calendar views looking cluttered as the properties for rent are mixed in with the properties that don't rent.
We work around that by creating tags for the properties that rent but that means that every time we want to look at the calendar we have to filter and choose only properties that have the tag "Vacation Rental" This is frustrating because we do it hundreds of times per day. And when you switch between view types (Ribbon, Calendar, Year, etc) your filter is lost and you have to do it all over again.
We have two wishes.
1. That properties could be designated as renting or non-renting and that this would be included on the list of TYPES available to you in the pull-down menu at the top of the Filter Screen (the current options are Blocked Off Time or Bookings)
2.That your filter would hold even when you switch view types and would only clear when you manually remove the filter

YES a million times yes. I was really surprised when I realized I could not keep scrolling from one month to the next on the ribbon view and the calendar view. This is super counterintuitive and very frustrating to navigate. I hope this one gets some more votes so that it can be rolled out as an improvement in the near future.

Yes this would be useful for us as well, but we would also like to be able to change the color of the blocking in ribbon view. Right now "Blocks" appear in white and are very hard to see. I'd like to be able to define the color based on wether it is a hold, a booking or a block.

I wish there was a way to organize the custom fields we create and add to the agreement. For example OR comes with custom fields that can be used to collect flight arrival information - which is great. But I also need to collect information in order to produce the Electronic Invoice that our local Costa Rican clients will want after they pay for their vacation rental.
The flight info and the company name, corporate ID etc have nothing in common but there is no way to nicely separate the form fields in the rental agreement.

I would like to have a few different sections where there are custom fields that need to be completed by the client. For example:
Arrival Details (flight #, airline, arrival time etc.)
Guest Details (names and ages of all those staying on the property, license plate number of cars for onsite parking) ability to upload ID (passport)
Corporate Details (company name and id for electronic invoices)

Long term guests want to pay monthly. It would be helpful to be able to set up multiple payments by date in an initial quote and have that information display in the email summary.

As it is, guests who think they are paying monthly get confused when they see the stay total. If you don’t “catch” a booking made close to check in date, the guest gets charged for the full stay before you can set up multiple payments.
