Option to Revert back to OLD FORMAT for OVERVIEW PAGE

I am requesting this because I print my Overview Pages for my notebook. Before to print OVERVIEW PAGE all was on one page. Now it takes 3 pages to print. A vast amount of waste and too much white space. Please!!!!

Thank you!

On the general discussion page I suggesting giving users the ability to create their own layouts of the booking summary page, including what to include. If users could store those layout and then chose between them, you could make a print version of your summary page for this purpose.

Hi Camelle,

Thank you for taking the time to explain why this is important to you. I completely understand the frustration, especially if your workflow involves printing the Overview page for a physical notebook and you suddenly went from one page to three. That is a noticeable change, and I appreciate you sharing the impact it is having.

I do want to be transparent that we will not be offering two separate versions of the Overview page. Maintaining both an old and new layout would create significant development overhead. Every future enhancement would need to be tested across desktop and mobile, and then again across both the old and new versions. One of the primary goals of this update was moving the page to Bootstrap 5, which gives us a much stronger and more reliable mobile foundation. The previous layout was not fully mobile friendly, and this upgrade positions us much better moving forward.

That said, a print-friendly version is a different conversation. Creating a tighter layout specifically for printing, with reduced white space and more condensed formatting, is something our product team could evaluate based on broader feedback. I will absolutely share your request internally.

In the meantime, I wanted to offer a couple of practical alternatives that may help, especially if your goal is having reliable access to booking details.

First, we do have a read-only backup environment at:
https://readonly.ownerrez.com

Even if the main production site were ever unavailable, you can log in there and view bookings and guest information. It is read-only, meaning you cannot make changes, but all reservation data is visible. For context, we have only experienced one true catastrophic outage in 15 years, and that event directly led to the creation of this read-only system.

Second, many users create a booking details email template that automatically sends to themselves whenever a new booking is created. This gives you a clean, searchable digital record of every reservation. If you still prefer paper, you could print that email instead of the Overview page, which is usually much more compact and avoids the extra white space.

Here is an example of what the body of that template could look like:

Booking ID: {BID}
Arrival: {BCHECKINTIME} on {BARRDAY}, {BARR}
Departure Date: {BCHECKOUTTIME} on {BDEPDAY}, {BDEP}

Guest Info:

Name: {CFULL}
Address: {CADDRPRIMES}
Phone: {CPHONE}
Email: {CEMAIL}
{BCTAB}

{BBACT}

You would just set the “To” email address as your own.

From there, you could create a Trigger so that every time a new booking is created, this template is automatically emailed to you. Then you could:

• Create an email folder called “Booking Records”
• Add a filter that automatically moves these emails into that folder
• Quickly search by guest name, booking ID, or arrival date

If you decide to print, the email format is typically much tighter and cleaner than the Overview page. Here is a screenshot below of what that printout would look like from that email so you can see how it compares.

This could be a helpful short term solution while we continue evaluating print-friendly improvements.

Thanks as always for the feedback!

Thank you Steven for your response. I do understand that it is a full process to have 2 versions.
The new format would work I believe if you guys would tighten up all the white space.
Several of us on the Facebook owner Rez site have voiced concerns about this.

Maybe you guys have plans to tighten all of the overview up.

My only other concern is why messages that do not belong to the current overview page are on there. It gets really confusing to see the random messages that are basically for other guests on a current guests overview.

Thanks for your reply. I will continue to print because I do not always have Internet service when someone calls or texts me and I need to look something up.

Thanks again,

Camelle

Hi Camelle,

Thank you for the thoughtful follow-up. I truly appreciate you taking the time to explain your concerns so clearly.

On the layout and white space, I absolutely understand the frustration, especially if you rely on printing and want it to be as efficient as possible. If others are feeling the same way, I would really encourage them to share that feedback here in our official Feature Requests forum. This space is one our development team actively monitors when planning improvements and future releases. While we are aware of conversations in the Unofficial OwnerRez Facebook group, that community is intentionally more peer-driven, and we do not monitor it nearly as closely as the official forums where posts trigger internal review and tracking.  Share this link in the discussion thread and have them come comment here:  https://www.ownerrez.com/forums/requests/offer-to-revert-back-to-old-overview-page

In the meantime, I’d still recommend trying the workaround of emailing yourself a booking template and printing from your email. It accomplishes two helpful things. First, it gives you a clean, single-page printout without excess white space. Second, it creates a digital backup outside of OwnerRez, which can be useful if you ever need to reference it offline. For someone in your situation, where internet access is not always available, that can be a strong short-term solution while we continue evaluating layout refinements.

Regarding the messages appearing on the Overview page, that definitely should not be happening if they truly belong to a different booking. The intent is to display the most recent message associated with that specific booking only. If you could email help@ownerrez.com with the exact ORB booking number and a screenshot of what you are seeing, we would very much like to investigate that. If there is any cross-booking display issue, that would not be a feature request, it would be a bug, and we want to address it.

Thank you again for the constructive feedback. It is helpful, and we do take it seriously.

-Steve

Hi Camelle,

Bri here from the Product team! Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this.

I do want to be upfront — reverting to the old overview page isn't something we're able to do, so we'll be declining this request as written. That said, we absolutely don't want you stuck with something that isn't working well for you!

There's already some community conversation happening around the new overview page here, as Robert pointed out: https://www.ownerrez.com/forums/general-help/the-new-booking-overview-page

If there are specific things about the new view you'd like to see changed or improved, we'd love to hear them. A new Feature Request outlining those details would be the best path forward — that way it gets the proper visibility with our internal teams.

Thanks again!

Camelie, I was directed by the helpdesk to this page to make the same request. The previous one page overview was VERY quick and helpful having it all on one page. The new layout is too long and cumbersome!

Steve, Can you explain where this workaround of emailing a booking template is located in the new layout?

In the meantime, I’d still recommend trying the workaround of emailing yourself a booking template and printing from your email. It accomplishes two helpful things. First, it gives you a clean, single-page printout without excess white space. Second, it creates a digital backup outside of OwnerRez, which can be useful if you ever need to reference it offline. The one page printable overview was so easy and quick. Wish that was still an option or could be added "print overview". Not sure why that went away. The new layout is cumbersome with information spread all over the place.

Steve, thank you for these directions. I will try to set up this template.
