Like others noted, I am using Jotform to collect ID images and selfies of guests holding their IDs with a link in my OR rental agreement. I was using Jotform for all of my rental agreements (prior to OR) with great success. I'm no super techie but maybe an integration with Jotform would do the trick?
So Anne are you in possession of the IDs? I'm trying to avoid being in possession of someone's ID which is why I'm trying this stripe out.
Here's the link to my form, https://form.jotform.com/212223102923036. I have it linked in my rental agreement and booking confirmation emails.

Would it be possible to share an example of how you did this?

See many others getting integrated to google, etc. Facebook, Google, Tiktok are the daily search engines for life when I have a private ad (now not allowed) I got enquiries and bookings. So google 100% works and I hear from guests I also "google to see if your also else were and not just on Airbnb"
Could we please make a New Year commitment to fix the month-end calendar ribbon handling?
It's probably the most annoying feature about Owner Rez.
I appreciate it's a big job because there are calendars everywhere but it does feel like the fix never makes it into the current sprint, or whatever the terminology is these days for development.
Thank you.Richard
We have been asking for this for a long time. At least two years. I hope it comes soon because it is so absolutely aggravating.

Hi All- is their an easy fix to add a "number of nights" column to the custom owner monthly statements? I know the arrival and departure dates are on the monthly statements, but several of my owners have requested this feature and it would be helpful when I report taxes. Thanks.

I don't know what percentage of OR clients use iPhones, but for those that do, the default file type for taking pictures these days seems to be .HEIC, I don't know when this started. Anyway when .HEIC uploads to OR it creates an error in the case of photos "HEIC images are not supported -- instead, convert to JPG and upload the JPG", and in the case of uploading an image for an email, OR creates a link, but when the guest clicks on the link it is a broken image, so the OR client doesn't even know there is a problem (I found this out through my guest). I guess OR could 'instruct' all iPhone users to set their cameras to .jpg default or, OR could convert the .HEIC file types upon uploading to .jpg would probably be more seamless for all the iPhone users, there must be a free script for it... In the meantime I'm changing my iPhone file type to .jpg!
YES!!!!!
I just got messed up and almost lost $1100 from a booking that I didn't see had not collected the final payment.
Sometimes people want to do the booking over the phone and not the internet, which is why its a 'manual' booking. Especially older people who we cater to.
Thank you for also suggesting this.
What if the app happened in steps? It wouldn't need to include every OR feature from the get-go.
That is the approach we're looking at actually.
The main items a native app would make better are:
There's not much else that really requires a native app other than these. So the loose idea is to create an OR "Messenger" app that would focus mostly on communication on all sides for OR users.
What if the app happened in steps? It wouldn't need to include every OR feature from the get-go. It could step up from a "Today's View" for owners to start, and move onto messaging, and other items after that, reserving creating new listings for just the website or something.
I would be nice to be able to turn off ALL scheduled messages with one click of a button.
I found a bunch of messages going out to guests where I did not want that to happen anymore.
I found this searching for a different missing report total. This may be different than it was when you created the topic, but the "Charge Total" is the total minus the tax.
What I'm looking for is a total that removes taxes AND host fees.
Well, I doubt we're going to do *that* exactly, but I do see your point - we could change it to something else, as you say, like alerts@ownerreservations.com .
Let's see how many other clients think this is a good idea though, before we go making another major change that might foul up everybody's email filters.
Quick update on this... As an Elite partner, we've been pressuring Vrbo for this for many months (probably more than a year). And they've listened! Last week, we had a kick-off meeting with their dev team to put together requirements for a new Messaging API. Vrbo has officially re-started the process and have stated that they are committed to putting out Messaging and Reviews by API. We don't have an ETA, but this is exciting news!
When making a manual booking there is currently no option to turn on the same kind of email automation used for regular bookings through API or quotes. Would be nice to have these as an option for manual bookings.
As an alternate/stopgap a warning message about automation NOT BEING AVAILABLE would help too.
System generated emails come from help@ownerreservations.com which makes them difficult to sort out from communications with the help desk. Would be nice if there were a setting that for new users could default to message@ownerreservations.com (or similar) but could be modified
No idea how many people have rules set up in their email client, but I'd vote for this to be a setting so existing users aren't affected.
Or change Ken's name to KenAlwaysKnows so I can more easily find his emails ;-)
While we don't have that trigger option at this time, the triggers can be set with those criteria. You can set the Departure date after Dec15 and Arrival date before Jan1 to catch anyone whose stay falls within those dates.
The same method can be used for a preview of who would receive the notice by filtering in your Bookings (list view):
From your Bookings page, select List View in the upper right. Then choose the Filters button to the left.
Arrives: [BLANK] to [1/1/2022]
Departs: [12/15/2021] to [BLANK]
You can also include other filter options below at the same time, to only include confirmed guests, only include guests that signed the Renter Agreement, etc.
Add this and
Also, consider adding an address verification API.
Groups like Melissa provide this.
I went through my rental this year and 14 had bad addresses uploaded by guests.
Tremendous potential for fraud here.
I find myself often needing to communicate with guests who are staying between a certain set of dates. For example the resort where all our properties are located is hosting some events for the holidays. We want to send guests staying with us between December 15th and January 1st to receive this message.
It would make it so much easier to create this trigger if there was a "Send Immediately" trigger with "Staying Between" logic option. We don't care when they checked in or when they are checking out so long as they will be staying with us between those dates.
I would also LOVE to be able to see how many guests meet the criteria for the options I have chosen so that before I activate a trigger I can see who would be receiving it right away. it would give me a way to double check that my logic was correct. Otherwise there is really no way to "test" it. The other day I made a mistake and a message went out in error to 40 guests.
I think this feature could be useful for lots of other types of messages as well.
Our check-in details are automatically sent when a guest signs the renter agreement but it sometimes go to their spam.
A field code that displays the date renter agreement was signed would be really helpful, as we can automate a reminder to check spam on {RENTERSIGNEDDATE}.
This has come to the forefront again. We have a pool table, and a paragraph in the RA that pool table is not to be moved. Had guests who signed the RA., but they took upon themselves to move the pool table off of its levelers, away from its normal location by about a foot. Now I held the deposit but it is bickering back and forth. We really need to make them initial explicitly the important paragraphs.
I would like to set up a discount code for free items. Such as free airport transfers for 5 night stay or more. We also give free Yeti mugs when guests book a 2 week reservation. Would anyone else find this feature helpful?
The QB sync is designed to update charge changes on bookings in OwnerRez to invoices in QB. If you're making a change you don't want to sync to QB, you could first go to the QB tab of the booking and turn off the sync for just that one booking -- then the change won't sync to QB and you can update on the QB side.
Grrrr. This is such a frustrating issue for me; I really can't get my head around how it's considered okay for OR to reach back in time and change historical transactions on my QB side. I know you all go in and zero out the invoice on the OR side in the case of a cancellation, but please please please don't update that to a past invoice on the QB side. It messes up my registry. I still have to refund the cash, which I do on my QB side.
There has got to be a better way!!
Hi Emma:
I just saw this! Where do I map it on the OR side? I see the "Location" area in the Property setting. But how can I map that to one of the locations in my list on the QB side?
Thanks for your help!
I currently use Point Central and am not 100% pleased. Are you having better success with Brivo over Remote Lock? I'm trying to research both and will be making a change very soon. My area has some spots where cell signal and wifi are not so great.
