So far, so good, is all I can say publicly at this time. For more information please reach out to our Helpdesk.
VRBO is testing the API with some owners but not open to everyone. Hopefully those who are in the test will do well and they will let more folks in.

Sorta kinda yes maybe but not yet. 😉The last of our pilot users was onboarded this week and we're past all the paperwork steps. We expect to make the public announcement next week or the week after, but we haven't given out hard ETAs because we don't want to dash expectations if it's still a few more weeks.
Couple things...
First, there is a large line of waiting users to jump on the API. So even if you're ready and willing, there will be some delay in queuing everyone and getting an assigned HomeAway integration specialist and all of that. HomeAway has been very quick and thorough so far in this process, so it's been an easy experience on that side. But there are things that have to validated and verified so that the APi works.
Second, getting the 5 property requirement waived is going to be a secondary priority for HomeAway to getting the larger PMs onboarded. While they have shown willingness to allow smaller accounts to use the API, their focus is probably going to be on getting PMs hooked up first. So if you have 4 or less properties, expect to wait longer as well. And we don't have any guarantee that you'll get API anyway, so please keep low expectations for now!
Any news on that?

We've heard from HomeAway that they're working on a "self service" option for the API integration that will allow people with less than 5 properties to sign up for that integration. That's due out later this year, but we don't have any specifics or ETA on it yet.Any news on that?
Yes, this is fully supported -- just set it that way in the property mapping in the lock settings in OwnerRez and the system will generate the codes appropriately.
You don't just have to map properties to locks one to one. You can map a single lock to multiple properties, or multiple locks to one property, and then when generating the code for a booking the system will look at the associated locks for the property and generate the appropriate code.
Is there a way to get multiple locks set up for a single property? I am using remotelocks.
So Beyond Pricing....
Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but I have never been able to find a way to search the forms.
I already use Beyond Pricing for the AirBnB side of my listing and it works well. It would be nice to activate it with OR, but I do know that Beyond Pricing takes a percentage of your rental income. There are a number of yearly returning renters and some extended friends that I manually create a quote for and they accept and a booking with a convenient path for payment, etc is created. Would these also be subject to Beyond Pricing surcharges when it does its monthly statement of fees? I guess I am looking for details on how Beyond Pricing would distinguish traffic that is sent our way as opposed to traffic that I obtain from my connections + extended friends?
Right now, if I have a friend who wants to use my property, I simply set him up on OR. It handles all the automation for me and it is a convenient way for him/her to pay me. Yes I pay some CC fees some time but I would not want to pay Beyond Pricing fees on top of that for a person I already know and have negotated a rate with.

If I get a new reservation downloaded to OR through an ABnB iCal link will OR push that up to VRBO if I have iCal going both ways for both VRBO and ABnB?
thank you.. will play with it some more then :)
Yep, in the Email Template editor -- look up at the top when you're editing and there's a Preview button with an eyeball icon.
Or if you're looking at the list in Settings > Email Templates you can access Preview via the dropdown arrow on each row.
If you enter a spot rate, that overrides the rate for that night.
In that case it's better to use a Length of Stay discount instead of a monthly rate: https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/length-of-stay-discounts -- that way both the rate and the discount will be factored in.
Can you send the date formats you're trying or a screenshot so we can verify that we're fixing the right issue?
Sure, that'll work!
If you've got a hosted website, that has its own widgets -- you need to make the adjustments by going to edit that particular page on the hosted website and update the holiday color on those widgets.
Right now, the only place you can put the custom fields is still on the booking, not the guest. We've got some upcoming work to make that handle guests as well, but no ETA yet.
Alece: To amend my recent answer - I have created a new "Custom Field" called "COVID" where I make notes if someone cancels. I'm doing that so I have a record, but it may also be something I'll sort on in the future if I want to send a follow-up email. Not ideal, but at least I've got something to fall back on where I can always download those email addresses and send them all the same message in the future. Will save me from going through every cancelled booking to see if it was virus related.
Thanks for that tip, Lydia. It worked perfectly!
Just wanted to say, fantastic idea and I'm kinda shocked I didn't think about this! I just adjusted my own. :)
Chris,
Can you clarify where to find the preview button "in the editor" in point C above - is this in the email editor, the booking editor? I'm not sure...
Yes, if I enter next year June, all is correct. Why would spot rates throw this off in such weird way?
The only thing I can think of Is that I have some spot rates in June, but it still does not add up. In my cottage "rent" line for a month in June should be 1,650 .. it comes up as 1,818.41 ... some weird number... Any help? Thank you
Ella
I'm not sure what's going on with rates but I can't figure out my monthly rate, though it shows set up correctly in the legacy settings, it does not show up correct when putting dates on the calendar. What am I missing?
Is there a detailed tutorial somewhere?
If I put 30 nights in June, rate should start showing as monthly and it does not.
I'm lost, wasting hours trying to figure this out.
Where is the page --
Spot Rates -
where Days can be marked
Check in not allowed
Check out not allowed
I have not. And with all the crazy going on these days it would be nice to be able to send something to folks who had to cancel. Maybe CHRIS or PAUL or someone can help us.
Did you figure out a solution for this, Lydia?
Can you please fix it.
I went to the Rate setting -set nightly rate -- then
one month at a time -
for one cabin -- selected Column --for Friday and Saturday -
then reset that for the weekend rate
went from present time forward through next year.
Updated to it --
now a problem
I have messed up the rates -
selected nightly - had to put in Surcharge for weekend.
Didn't work
Holidays still shaded on public view of page for selecting dates to send inquiry --
which makes them look blocked
so they will not send inquiry
You can set the color of the holiday shading in the settings for the widget, under Settings > Widgets. One of the options is no shading.
