5 minutes is much better than 20, indeed. If a guest is going to leave a nasty review, they usually write a lot, so that's at least 2 min, meaning they have 3 minutes to see the email, open it, type everything, plug the stars and send.. probs 1% would make it.

Please do it ASAP since I have a guest that will get a bad review soon lol

Coincidentally, we discussed this the other day, and are planning to lower it to 5 minutes (for everyone).  Our research shows that that's a very good balance between "when the fastest guest would respond" and making sure it gets in before Airbnb slams the gate shut.

Yep. Just had the guest from hell and I'll be posting the review manually a few minutes before the review period expires instead of trusting OR, because the guest is very responsive to Airbnb messages and will likely see that I've reviewed her and review me back well within 20 minutes. 20 minutes is too long and too much of a risk for retaliatory reviews. I'm not comfortable with anything over 5 minutes (and preferably fewer--2 is great).

I attended the VRM Intel conference in Branson this week and met the guys from BeHome247. They claim to have an OR integration and also sync up with most smart home devices out there, so it would do what this feature request asks.

If their product works as advertised, it would also replace Breezeway (or EZCare/Turnoverbnb/ResortClean) and my RemoteLock and TouchStay subscriptions, as they claim to have native door lock/code management and guest guidebook offerings (unlike TouchStay, BeHome247's guest portal/PWA app lets guests control smart thermostats, click to check out (proactively notifying housekeepers, etc.).

The pricing is actually not that much more than Breezeway+RemoteLock+TouchStay, so I'd basically be getting thermostat management for about $5/month/property. I have a demo booked for next week, so we'll see how it actually looks and works in practice.

Agree wholeheartedly. I basically never leave the house without bringing my laptop, and it's primarily because I never know when something will pop up that is simply too difficult to do in the PWA.

Here are a few issues with the PWA (as it presents on my iPhone) that come to mind, among others:

• No support for push notifications (I want to support guest communication by SMS, but I will not subscribe to OR's implementation of that until this is a reality, and I basically never use OR for interactive channel messaging because the lack of notifications means it's just easier to use the native Airbnb app)
• Overall poor UI for ribbon/calendar view (admittedly, the whole OR mobile site needs a significant update, but a native app can be made much more fluid
• No proper "back" button (dragging left works sometimes but not always, so frankly, just using OR in the browser is easier than the PWA)
• Inability to copy hyperlinks within the app (I have to switch to the browser so I can long-tap on a link to copy it)
• Failed page loads and unable to force quit app on bad connection (this happened to me on Wednesday--I was at a conference with bad wifi and when I opened the OR PWA, it got stuck on a partial page load and refused to update for the rest of the day, since iOS doesn't support force-quitting PWAs or force-reloading PWA "pages")

I know it's not cheap to develop apps, but OR is now a mature product and most of OR's competitors have a functional solution, so this is something OR lags significantly on.

It would be useful to have the ability to create custom macros to use in our templates. 

That way if we need to share information about specific surcharge, for example, a required gratuity for a chef, we would have the ability to {BUGratuity} the fee into an email.

When guests have stayed with us, we would like to send them a promotional code for a discount, provided they book within a week of leaving our property. It would be nice if we could send a discount code which applies to each guest, but which has a time limited. The code would need to self generate for each guest and then have an expiry period of the Ownerrez users choosing.

Hi Ben the guest does not need  to do anything. Providing OR has the mobile number stored as the main number, then I use the OR schedule email feature to send it a SMS the day before the rubbish is to be collected.  The collection alternates between general rubbish one week and recycle the next so it is important they put out the right bin. In the UK it is possible to use the option in clicksend to make it appears the SMS comes from my mobile so they can reply to you. This feature may not work in all countries. I also use clicksend to send SMS messages just before the guest arrives and just before they leave, using the OR triggers.

I see. Did you try using clicksend and it's still a headache?

Agreed, and it could be something you enable on your account, therefore accepting that there may be some inconsistencies.

Doesn't seem worth $10/month to me (especially when IFTTT does it for free), but some of you may be interested.

It would be really great if we had a way to put a contact on a waitlist for a week that might open up in our peak season. We get lots of people wanting me to reach out if particular weeks open up. And there are always multiple weeks that do open up, but I have no way of recalling who wanted which week.

Doesn't the don't try again if trigger date is missed option do what you want?

We have 50 plus properties and so writing and keeping up with all the descriptions is a lot of work. 

Something that would really help us would be the ability to include field codes in these descriptions. 

For example for all the Property Headlines we could set up: 

{PPUBNAME} | {PBEDS} Bedroom, {PBATHS} Bath = Casa Breeze | 5 Bedroom, 6 Bathroom

Or for long and short descriptions we could have a template that said: 

Welcome to {PPUBNAME} a {PBEDS} bedroom, {PBATHS} bathroom home in the world class Reserva Conchal Gold and Beach Resort in Guanacaste Costa Rica. 

The majority of our property descriptions are the same because all our homes are located within the same resort community so they share the same location and amenities. Being able to incorporate Field Codes (and custom field codes) would make generating these property descriptions so much faster and easier to maintain as they would auto update if we made changed to any of the fields. 

I use triggers to offer gap day discounts in an escalating fashion (10% 2 weeks out, 30% 1 week out 50% a couple days out).  I’d like to be able to skip the 10/30 if the 50 has already been sent so there aren’t mixed messages….

A way to apply the same change to a bunch of properties or all enabled properties.

For example say I want to add the same text to the exact same field on a handful of properties, e.g. put the exact same information under "Enhanced Cleaning Practices" for a bunch of properties.

It would be great if there was a way to mass-edit / mass-change something on multiple / all properties, without affecting any other parts of the listings.

I've just been going through each one and copy-and-pasting the info but that gets time-consuming.

Sloanish, If I created a tool that integrates with ownerez and your thermostat would you buy it? So you don't have to wait for the zapier integration to happen?

I could potentially help you with this as I am a programmer. Does this need to be done by ownerrez for you do find where your traffic is coming from?

I have not. Hoping those badass programers at OR hop on this sooner rather than later. 

Have you figured out a solution to this yet?

There have been plans to integrate with Zapier, which would provide some of these capabilities, but we try not to give ETAs as software companies are infamous for not meeting them and that just annoys people.

I just did this using IFTTT. It was super easy; I have an Ecobee thermostadt. 

I set up a template and a trigger in OR that sends an email to IFTTT, based on certain conditions (summer season and no one stayed in the place the night before). 

This email triggers IFTTT to turn the Ecobee thermostadt to a certain temperature and Hold until the next scheduled transition. 

This way, I can set the AC to kick on a few hours prior to a guest's arrival, so they don't arrive to a hot place. 

Does the product need to integrate with OR? If so, why?
