It's so pathetic that Google is not available on OR yet! It has been years since they have been talking about it and at least one year since they said it was immanent. I am so tired of all these other useless integrations etc.

I'm really confused by the 'issues' being presented as limiting Google Vacation Rentals integration.

Would it not be possible to create a 'Google Vacation Rentals Widget' that MUST be used by those OwnerRez users in order to have Google VR integration? (If an owner doesn't want or care about Google VR integration, they don't use the widget, simple.)

The widget could even include code to verify its use and that it's on the correct landing page on the OwnerRez user's site in order to satisfy Google's requirements. Heck, it could even automatically feed back the landing page location to OwnerRez so Google's verification system always finds the widget in use where it's supposed to.

Or am I missing something?

(Please put me in the beta program ASAP too please. I don't use an OR website, but would for that purpose... it seems a reasonable cost to me. Inquiries that I get from those who found my website through google have a very high success rate.)

There is a difference between an optional item and a surcharge. Both need to be handled properly, and at the moment, OwnerRez doesn't do this.

We need to be able to present optional items WITHIN quotes, and have the guest able to select that item be included with their reservation or not, at time of booking. Simply showing an optional item as selectable by the guest at time of booking does not meet these requirements.

In the Orlando area, optional pool heating during winter months is the norm. It is essentially a 'standard' item, but it is still up to the guest whether they want to include it with their booking or not.

However, it is so common that guests routinely request that it be included in their quote when they ask for one; "Please send me a quote including pool heating and BBQ rental," is a common example. This means that they want to know how much the booking will cost with the items included. It doesn't guarantee that they want these OPTIONAL items are not. At present, there is no way to send the guest a quote with the optional items included in the pricing (so the guest can see the total they may be paying), where those optional items remain optional for the guest to include in the booking or not.

It should be a user selectable setting for OwnerRez users, that an optional item is automatically included in all quotes created for a particular season. But that item must remain optional so that the guest can choose to include it with their booking or not.

As things are, including an optional item automatically in quotes means that it is no longer optional. The guest no longer has the ability to accept or reject the option. This means that the 'optional' item is no longer optional, it has become a surcharge.

It is a gigantic waste of time to constantly edit every quote prior to sending it out to include optional seasonal items. But this is separately problematic, as doing so makes them a surcharge, and no longer optional for the guest. This makes no sense, and is a hassle and time waster for both guests and owner/managers.

There is a difference between an optional item, and a surcharge. A surcharge, if included by the owner/manager, is not changeable by the guest. An optional item SHOULD BE.

This is incredibly basic quote functionality. Can we please have OPTIONAL items that can be included in quotes?

You're not misspeaking at all. The mentioning of booking.com was included as booking.com would be the main point of contention for this change to occur. Apologies for any confusion!

The only feature that I think could make it better is a button for the condo being ready to be checked in early that would bypass the grace period and update it to the current time.

The Settings menu is an access point for core OwnerRez functionality, and as such I go into that menu more times than I can count every day. Having it located front and center in the top menu allowed me to get to it immediately and seamlessly to carry out my business.

Now that it has been moved to the far right past the Help menu and search field and buried in a dropdown, however, that quick and seamless access is totally gone.

I personally see no reason to have it buried way over there, and it is not even logical.

Please put it back where it was!

Putting Notes on the calendar would be a great feature.  Maybe have it work like the "Block Off Time" feature except the option would be "Note" and simply capture text.

Hey Caleb, I may be misspeaking here, but I don't see the original post mentioning anything about Booking.com. 

However, adding a time cutoff for same-day bookings for direct bookings certainly gets my vote!

Quick update here...  Keep your eye out for the weekly Product Update blog post, which will discuss this in more detail, but an update went out this morning that included some Schlage fixes:

  • Delete expired codes from lock
  • Make code length editable now that Schlage supports it (for locks with latest firmware)
  • Use guest name for access code name instead of ORBxxx number

I really really really want to integrate with direct booking tools as well but you'll see my post there. OwnerRez has refused to make the "minor additions to their code" . Please please please OwnerRez!!!

Using the book now widget is great, except the guest does not receive a copy of the quote they begin when they click book now, they are expected to complete the booking immediately, or it is lost to them forever. Why am I emailed with the quote in question, but the guest is not? What needs to happen is that the quote is initiated on the site, and also sent to the guest. If they complete the booking right away, then the link in the quote will no longer work, but if they close out of the booking window from the site, they have a way to go back and finish (without my having to send it each time I get a notification about this). In our world of window shopping, there needs to be some way to be more persistent with getting guests to follow through on bookings.

I have read many, many past requests to add a note function to the ribbon calendar so we can easily see if maintenance is scheduled that day, pest control, guest arriving early, etc.  We are wondering if this is scheduled for any future updates?  It would also be great if we could search by notes....easily see when the last a/c maintenance was perform, pest control was done, etc.

I know I am the 3rd OR Team member to comment on this thread that it is coming.  But it is coming!  lol

As the tag at the top of the thread indicated this is indeed in development and will be released shortly!

Version 1 will most likely just add criteria very similar to the current trigger template as you mention.  But once the groundwork is laid, future revisions will hopefully add more logic and conditions such as automatically adding when a booking has a specific surcharge.

As a Property Owner and user myself I am just as excited about this feature coming as you are!   Stick with us it will be here soon!

We really need this feature enabled.  Task Management would be great, but at least some automation of tags to assist us in our own automations.  This could be as basic as in the Triggers, add a section of tags to add or remove from the reservation, in addition to sending a Template, using the same controls that exist on the same page under criteria.  This should be really low development effort and high value.  Lack of Task Management is causing me to evaluate other platforms, but this would go a long way.

Yes I am also having same problem where infants are not being included in any confirmations emails from airbnb bookings leading to confusion. 

Is there a Field that picks up the airbnb infant count?

Hi Roman,

There would be some technical issues to overcome to make this sort of thing work long-term, we have plans to update the booking.com API which should help in some capacity, but the main issue is that OwnerRezs' underlying structure only supports down to the day resolution times. The good news is that Booking.com does appear to have support for hourly resolution times.

Essentially while possible it would require some restructuring on our part, in any case definitely pass the URL of this page to any partners or colleagues you do have to get that vote count up!

I'm in the same boat as others. It would be perfect if you could designate the number of digits and possibly use the guest name rather than booking number. I tried manually creating codes and it still added the additional zeros to it.

This would be a fantastic addition! I would love a way to send an automatic response to any Airbnb messages received outside of business hours that provides info on when we’ll next be available and offers a phone number for emergency use only.

It would be an even bigger bonus if we could tailor the auto-response trigger to send different templates for guests in varied statuses (pre-booking, during reservation, post-stay, etc.).

I am hoping to setup directbookingtools on my site I'm also seriously looking at purchasing directbookingtools which will show how much cheaper it is to book direct. This should encourage people to stay on my website instead of looking at what Airbnb has. This year so far we had 75% direct bookings in July/Aug57% direct bookings overallBut I want to ensure they stay on my site and I think this will definitely help.

But they just responded saying:OwnerRez availability/price quote widget on your website is an external script that OwnerRez provides and it is placed inside of an iFrame on the property pages, so the dates and total price quotes that a website visitor is seeing on those property pages, are hidden from any third party scripts - thus the inability at this moment for us to be able to grab that information with our script and utilize this info to grab the corresponding total quotes from the OTAs.
We are planning to re-open our dialog with OwnerRez in the near future to see if they would be willing to make some minor additions to their code so we can actually synergize our efforts to help companies like yours using OwnerRez websites/widgets to increase their direct bookings. Julianne will surely reach out to you once this happens.

 

Ideally it would be nice if OwnerRez could do this in a widget but in the time being Can we please please please at least get these "minor additions to their code"  that way myself and others could use a service like directbookingtools. It would make a huge difference for those "price shoppers" especially since many of us operate in countries in the beginnings of a recession, and where there is lots and lots of choice on Airbnb. If they've hit my website, I want them to stay on my website and book now.
