The property description currently allows descriptions that are used on AIRBNB and others used on VRBO

Like many hosts I use the API settings to bump the cost up on AIRBNB and VRBO 

When I offer a 20% off in my HEADLINE or DESCRIPTION it would be helpful to have a HEADLINE and DESCRIPTION that is only used on the hosted website so I am not offering the same discount there since the prices are different due to lack of the APR setting rate % increase.

Hello!

I’ve noticed that when refunding (or simply changing) part of someone’s reservation, it seems that OR uses the current market rates for recalculation.  In some cases, this could be handy (like when moving to new dates completely or if wanting to inflate slightly on an extension when demand has gone up) but other times it would be ideal to utilize the original booked rate (either actual day rates per day from original booking or a prorated average of all booked dates) for recalculation.  Sometimes we will be asked to remove 3 days and the guest is recalculated to pay more than their original booking based on new market rates.  In this instance, the guest shouldn’t be penalized for making a change to shorten their reservation unless required by the owner or PM.  Does that make sense?  So I guess I’m wondering if a third recalculation option might be considered for adding to OR which would simply be a Prorated daily average rate for adding or subtracting dates to a current booking.

I just checked the Airbnb docs and they've recently updated the max headline to 50 chars. I don't think they're fully validating it yet, but I would recommend working with shorter headlines -- they are more eye catching that way anyways.

We'll get that doc updated.

I created it myself.  It's super easy to do in Jotform.  Before signing up for OR, I did all my Rental Apreements in Jotform too.  I have another Jotform form that I use for service animals.

(including refundable deposit at the end) would help tremendously.

Given that Vrbo has an 8 char limit and AirBNB shows as 255 in the Field list, how can we take advantage of those? Cannot put more than 80 in the Property Description Headline as OR generates an error message about a max of 80.

Is there a way to put National Holidays on the OR RATE calendar? I know there are seasons which we use to rate the holidays, and the color changes for those higher rates. But for them to be on the rate calendar in some form with a name would be much easier to navigate. Currently I am using google calendar and switching back and forth. Maybe there is a work around for this?  Any suggestions? Maybe I have missed this function. Thanks for all you guys and gals do! Jim

Right now, any photo that does not have Landscape dimensions (where the width exceeds the height of the photo) gets cropped badly in the image previews on auto-generated OwnerRez Hosted Websites. Once you click the image and it shows the full image, the image shows up properly. The previews will look messed up though unless the user is willing to manually crop / edit / somehow transform all the Portrait-style images into Landscape-style images BEFORE uploading them to OwnerRez. 

Please add a feature where it automatically adds extra black/white space to the Left & Right of a portrait style photo, so they show up properly (uncropped, showing the whole image, not just part of it) in the previews on the page for that property, and so that users don't have to worry about using Portait-style photos and them looking totally wrong.

The invoice doesn't have a per property breakdown. You can get that in the Insurance report though, either grouped by Property or leave that in a column and export to Excel for further analysis.

It would be helpful to be able to add variable text into templates, based on a tag and/or other CRITERIA (Booking Status, Booking Fields, Booking Relationship). For example, the tag of sofabed would add text to remind cleaners to make the sofabed and/or clean it. Yes, I now have 2 templates (with or without the words) and 2 triggers (tag on or off) for this plus another 2 each for the crib tag, and another 2 for both tags, etc. It would be nice to have one template and have the various options, tag based, and add the text as needed. What do you think? Add other template update ideas.

I applied manually some weeks ago.  Very intensive process and I have zero visibility into if I'll be approved or even if the form has been reviewed.  Since I'm a small operator, I'm not holding my breath.  For now they pull from some of the otas and that's been good enough for me... For now.  Just wish the OTA they pull from was integrated with OR.  Right now, they aren't integrating with anyone new.

At the moment, there are a number of nonobvious limitations in the GVR system.  In particular, their onboarding process is largely manual, requiring a good bit of manual effort by Google, the client (you), and the CM (OwnerRez).  You can think of it as somewhat similar to connecting up the Vrbo API which takes time and a Vrbo rep, compared to the Airbnb API which is basically automatic and "just works" in most cases once you turn it on.

Google is planning on adding a much more automated API system in the fall, and we're anticipating that, at that point, it would make sense to integrate without swamping the support systems.

We are very interested in the experiences of those who have used GVR - are you, in fact, getting many/any bookings?

Sadly the iCal method is pretty lame with Breezeway.  They can’t distinct between an old booking and a new booking, so if someone extends their stay there will be a new cleaning added to the end of the stay but the old cleaning from the original check out date is still there as well.  Same goes for cancellations, etc

Understood.  It sounds like they aren't using the iCal data correctly.  We provide a ton of data in the custom iCal feeds, so it should be really simple for them to detect booking changes and/or include more information in the iCal field based on what they need to see.  Of course, this isn't something you can really control yourself - you need them to change their iCal parsing logic - and I completely get that.

Can I pay to have an API sync done from OwnerRez’s side?

We don't really have a process for that.  It's not about the financial cost only.  It's really a better integration if the third party builds to us.  There's a number of reasons for that, but it makes for a better process if the housekeeping app publishes their own app and controls the information they are using from OwnerRez.  Let me discuss internally and see what all I can come up with.

GMAIL only allows data sharing with specific apps.  Discord is not one of them (which I use to communicate with my cleaners) nor are the others that people have referenced here.

 

Please reconsider the priority of this integration.  Integration with Zapier allows your users to build their own integration without having to wait for you to implement much needed function.  It will also provide you with a framework to build out integration that you want to provide.

I used to be on Fantastic stay.  They were absolutely horrible.  But they are on the list.
I don't like the restrictions on Lodgify with the messaging.
I love the OwnerRez Facebook group.
How are these other companies getting on the Google Vacation Partners?

I wish we did not need any kind of temporary stop gap and we all need it to be seamless and integrated into OR.  I just keep wishing for the feature....hopefully soon.

We follow the Jot Form recommendations above and began collecting them ourselves just last week. It's a good temporary stop gap.
