Hi Katie,
Not directly no, however there are workarounds. A common one would be to create a custom template/trigger, we briefly mention that here: https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/third-party-communications-options#custom-trigger
If you're having trouble with the specifics of setting that up, please feel free to email into our help desk and we'll see if we can help guide you to what you're looking for.

I must be missing something that should be obvious. How do I schedule a report to be sent via email? Something simple like the "Booking" report being sent daily via email?
Want to send daily at a specific time to specific people. Is this not an option?
Is there a way to modify the fields displayed in a 3rd party alert?
They are working great but there is additional info I want to include in the alert. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks!
No problem. I responded to the email with the list and order.
Thanks!
Hi Katie:
I found your help desk ticket from Tuesday and reached out.
I need to add 3 more API connections for VRBO. I have submitted multiple tickets and have not received a response from OR. Can someone here help point me in the right direction. I've been waiting for almost since Oct 6 and still no response. Can someone help? Am I doing something wrong?
Hi Meredith,
We have a short article with a video guide on this subject here: https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/properties-importing-listing-details-from-airbnb-vrbo
In short the import only pulls public information from a public URL.

Hi Holly:
Assuming you are API-connected to Vrbo, the detailed answer depends, in part, on whether you are Instant Book or Request to Book. I read your question about the inquiry/quote to mean you want to adjust the pricing to discount the stay. If you are not adjusting pricing, the guest can simply book, no quote and approval are needed.
If you want to change pricing:
If you are Request to Book, you and the guest can message back and forth and agree on a price. Simply edit the booking amount before confirming and collecting the payment.
If you are Instant Book, you have several options, once you've agreed on a price:
A} Allow the guest to book and refund the overpayment if there was only one payment scheduled; otherwise adjust the pricing and the final payment will adjust automatically
B} Go into the rates calendar; edit the pricing and minimum nights to match your discussed amount; sync those changes to Vrbo and let the guest book (anyone could book those prices, so do it when the guest is available to act quickly.) If you use dynamic pricing, either adjust on that site and force a sync, or adjust pricing on OwnerRez, knowing that it will disappear the next time pricing syncs, and expect the guest to book immediately
C} Go to Properties>Rules and change the rule to NOT charge the card at the time of booking, allow the guest to book, adjust the pricing, run the card, and then change that rule back
It is in fact not possible to do what you want.
- You cannot send the quote manually and bypass Vrbo, even if you wanted to, because Vrbo only provides the guest's real email address after they book. Prior to booking, they only provide a proxy email that automatically filters out any links, phone numbers, web addresses, or other potentially identifying information. That's why you can't send a regular OwnerRez quote.
- At present Vrbo does not have a custom-quote API interface, so it is not possible for OwnerRez to configure a quote that can show up at the guest's end as a regular Vrbo quote for them to book.
- And, unfortunately, Vrbo also doesn't allow you to create custom quotes in their control panel for API-connected properties.
We do have regular discussions with Vrbo about our client experience, and, they are aware of this gap in functionality. We'll continue to push for that capability to be added.
The most effective workaround is to tell the guest to go ahead and book at whatever rate Vrbo presents them. Then, once the booking has been made and appears in OwnerRez, you can make any desired changes to the Charges in the Booking in OwnerRez, since at that time OwnerRez will be in full control of it.
Hello,
Not seeing this problem easily answered on the forums.
I received a Vrbo inquiry from a potential guest. I attempted to create a quote for the inquiry but OwnerRez doesn't seem to want to send the quote through the API connected channel. I can't figure out how to do that or if it's possible. I did not want to send the quote manually and bypass Vrbo.
Additionally, I attempted to respond with a quote within Vrbo itself. Vrbo is supposed to have the ability to send a pre-approval or quote within the native inbox, but for some reason those features are missing from the inquiry. I suspect they are removed since I connected the listing to the OwnerRez PMS, but I'm not sure.
I'm going to have the guest actually request to book instead of contacting host. That's my interim fix. Any clarification on what is happening and what I should do?
I was told when I signed up for OwnerRez, that I could just import a VRBO listing from the URL, even if I wasn't the PM on that listing. I was pretty skeptical about that because of photography ownership but asked a few times for clarification and was told that it was an legitimate practice. Does anyone know anything on that topic?
So if I stay logged in to Airbnb can I still message guests on there? Will it send me their messages still?
Yep! And the messages will still come into OwnerRez, even your replies if you reply via the Airbnb app.

So the only way to get alerts if Airbnb is linked through api is through email correct? I have 8 properties and people need things and answers right away. I get so many emails especially when sleeping. I would def miss things esp late at night if it’s only through email. Is there any other way?
Browser Push Notifications are currently in R&D (research & development). So that will help!
For now, if Airbnb specifically, you can stay logged into the Airbnb app on your phone to receive push notifications. The same applies for Vrbo using the Vrbo Owner app.
hi everyone, just want to ask if there is a way to get notifications from ownerrez sent to my team as well? not just the host? thanks in advance
Team Alerts (for Staff users) is currently in testing!
News on which piece in particular? 2022 did bring some big accounting things.
We are currently pushing hard on large PM work (which includes how expenses are handled and also includes some reporting changes), other accounting things, and lots of other stuff.

Hi Tarki:
Thanks for raising this issue. Our engineers have spotted the problem & are in discussion with Airbnb to remedy it in the next few days.
We also offer a Manual Lock integration. I'm not sure if this would be a suitable fit for you, but you can explore that option here:
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/integration-manual-door-locks
Essentially, you'd still be setting the lock yourself, but you can have the system automatically generate codes to send to guests based on your configuration.
Hi Bri, thank you. I have seen the available Door Lock partners, but I do not see any of them listing the Kwikset Halo. This is a fairly popular brand so I am surprised none of the partners work with it. I already made the purchase, so maybe I just need to return it.
Hi Matthew,
Yes! We have Field Codes that can be inserted into your Templates that populate with property-specific content.
You can read more about creating custom email Templates here (all Template creation is generally the same, be it email, SMS, or channel message):
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/email-templates#custom
And here's more info on our available Field Codes:
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/field-codes
We also offer the ability for you to create Custom Field Definitions:
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/custom-fields#field-defs
Hi Jessie,
Take a look at that booking now. I gave it a nudge from this end to update the transaction records.
If anything still looks amiss, please write to us at the helpdesk so we can have another look! help@ownerrez.com
Hello, there is a recent problem: Airbnb bookings come into OR with US phone code "1" regardless of the phone number. For example German phone number +4917624625363 comes as +1 4917624625363
I have a red balance due on a single airbnb booking. I am API integrated and I have transaction sync enabled so channel bridge no longer works for airbnb bookings. ORB7816389 Thank you!
Hello! Have there been any updates to this? I did not realize that this was not an option when I first created my OwnerRez account and website for my rentals. I agree with everyone else that time is of the essence when it comes to guest bookings. They will very quickly look elsewhere. An SMS notification is imperative for STR! Thanks!
Can same template be used for different properties pulling property specific info?temp
Hi Sheri!
We offer the ability to create Custom Field Definitions so that you can obtain that additional information on the Point of Contact form.
You can read more about Custom Fields here - https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/custom-fields
Of course, if you have further questions, feel free to write to us at the helpdesk! help@ownerrez.com
Hello!
Is it possible to customize the fields in the Point of Contact Form (POC) that goes out with the Rental Agreement?
Previously, I sent my lease out via Docusign which allows guest to fill in the form with all the guest names, emergency contact and additional email address. OR's system only allows signature acceptance of agreement and is nice that it is all in one message to the guest. Since I'm now paying for OR, I am trying to incorporate this use and cancel the additional cost of Docusign.
Thanks!
Sheri
I know that we can easily ask guests through the airbnb messenger for emails but now we have an additional step to grab that email and enter it in ownerrez. It would be AWESOME if Owner Rez could provide a link similiar to the booking clean up link that we can set a trigger for that asks for contact information (not payment information) and then is autoamtically dumped into Ownerrez.
The process outlined in my post above regarding channel Templates allows for that guest's email to be entered on the booking automatically. 🙂
While the {BUFIXUP} link does contain the Point of Contact form, Rental Agreement, and a payment page at this time, and the three are not able to be pieced out, the end result is still the same as what you've described you're looking for. The system will dump that email into the booking for you when the Airbnb guest has completed your Point of Contact form.
