Hi - I'm just getting my listing set up. Right now we are only going to be on AirBnb. We plan on scaling up soon but want to go live. Do I still need to set up a payment processor or will guests be paying through AirBnb? Thanks!
Sure, here are discussions of that issue:
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/split-payments
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/multiple-payments
Here is how to do that:
https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/charging-guests-a-credit-card-fee
However, we do not generally recommend this, as guests find it to be a nuisance fee.
Hello! I am pretty new to OwnerRez and am about to collect my first Direct Booking through a custom quote for a guest. It's a rather large booking and they are requesting to either split the first payment across multiple credit cards or to allow additional payments towards it (ie. 25% in Dec, 25% in Jan, and the rest 30 days before booking). Is there a way to do this or does anyone have any suggestions on another way to help accommodate them? Thanks, Daniel
How do I setup a surcharge to charge customers for using their credit card? In Canada we are allowed to charge up to 2.4%
A surcharge is a fee that a merchant may add to a transaction when a consumer pays by credit or debit card.Surcharges for credit card paymentsAs a merchant, you have the option of adding a surcharge to a credit card transaction (except in Quebec). Some payment card network operators (PCNOs) forbid surcharging for prepaid cards.

But is there a discount I can give for paying etransfer? Maybe that's the better message I want to give?
Thank you will do
the second point was that we are unable to read reviews on people making bookings through VBRO when using API.
If you're using our Vrbo API, don't worry about the countdown:
Not sure I understand your other question though, please write in to the Helpdesk with full details.
I'm trying to create an AirBNB Template that pulls in the guest's Touch Stay digital guide that's specific to their booked dates (Touch Stay guide books are set to make the address and wifi info available 1 day prior to their stay). I followed this guide: https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/touch-stay#how-to-send-guidebook-links-to-ownerrez-as-field-codes, but it seems like it only works for Email Templates. When trying to create the AirBNB Template, I'm unable to insert a link, nor am I able to bring in my Custom Field Definition (ie., {BXTOUCHSTAYLINK}) into the AirBNB template. Is there a way to get this to work for an AirBNB template?
Hello,
would appreciate some guidance here,
when guests book via VRBO we are notified that we need to accept the reservation and a countdown clock begins. We accept the reservation in ownerres and VRBO does not remove the clock nor are we able to accept the reservation on the VRBO site. What do we need to do.
secondly when guests book we are not able to see how they have been reviewed. How can we resolve this?
thanks
Thanks, I’ll try that. 👍🏼
Not really, as that's kind of out of scope for OwnerRez. We can certainly point you to where you'd want to use HTML and CSS in our Hosted Websites, but as for HTML and CSS themselves, there are a great many resources on the Internet to learn about them better than we could reasonably teach.
We do have some snippets of useful CSS available in the support docs:

No, but, once a guest has booked, you can export your contact list from OwnerRez into Excel, and then most likely import it in one go into your mailing list program.
Hi UstlcRentals,
We'll send you an email to dig further into this!
Yes - in both Property Rules and each individual Season, there's an array of checkboxes where you can select what days checkin and checkout are and are not allowed.
Hello
I for one could really benefit from a seminar or "cheat sheet" on how to expand functionality on our hosted websites.
Topics such as HTML, CSS, etc.
Has OR given any thought to having such a presentation?
Thank you
Hey folks, is there a way to embed a link to my email subscription form in the booking process? It would be great for guests to have the opportunity to subscribe automatically during their booking, so I don’t have to input their emails manually into my mailing list later. I tried creating a custom booking field, but I can’t figure out how to make it a clickable link.
I have my rates set to $100 weekday and $115 weekends. I have a 5% increase set for airbnb. On airbnb my rates show as $95 weekday and $121 weekends. That's less for weekdays, which don't make sense... and more for weekends, which is right. Just looking for some clarity on the situation.
Thanks in advance
- Lacey
Is there a way to set up the booking so guests can't check in on Sundays?
Tecipients can choose to unsucribe to the alerts.
Can you explain your use case in more detail? You ought to be able to accomplish your intent, perhaps in a different way, such as by a trigger that fires when a booking is created, but, with the criteria that it applies only for bookings arriving in less than 1 day.
This won’t work for me. I get last minute bookings sometimes so I need a message sent in response to the security deposit being scheduled. Why is there not a way to do this?
Thank you for the workaround you suggest but this is very inconvenient for handling data from disabled properties. I believe you have to do something about this...
As has been pointed out multiple times, no update is necessary - in order to see the data from disabled properties, all you have to do is temporarily re-enable them, and it will all reappear.
This is a courtesy to allow you to do this without charge for the additional property, so long as you disable it again before your next billing day. If disabled properties were fully functional like enabled ones, then it would be necessary to charge for them, which would kind of defeat the point of having the disable feature.
We're in the same boat. Sold two properties and would like to run historical reports. Is this on a list for a future update?
Not at present, but, we have plans to add that capability in the future.
I mostly use AirBnB but not API at this time. I have 30 cabins I manage. I'm looking for a way that would show me what my pricing is this year vs last or a solution that automatically takes my pricing from last year and puts it up for this year or can even add another $50 to that. I'm tired of looking at past calendars to see what I got for Xmas last year and pricing accordingly. it's a lot of back and forth- so seeing if there are any options / pricing companies out there that automatically do this.
Unfortunately, yes, Airbnb has added the ability to edit a great many things directly in their control panel, even if you are using OwnerRez.
Don't do this! Any changes you make, will just be overwritten by OwnerRez next time it syncs... but, precisely when that is cannot be known and, since we don't know you made changes in Airbnb, it may be awhile. You'll end up with unpredictable and confusing behavior.
All changes should continue to be made in OwnerRez, except for the handful of settings where this is documented as not possible:
Hey there, I have API between my OwnerRez account & Airbnb account.
Before, I was unable to edit anything under 'Additional Charges' for units in Airbnb, and when I would use the Airbnb app it would say something along the lines of "use your integration software to make changes".
Now under every unit, I'm able to edit and change any additional fees I'd like, I would love to actually do that, so I could separate my resort fees, cleanings fees and damage fees from being all together in the cleaning fee and then later having to separate them when I'm doing owner statements. I haven't tried it out because I'm wondering how it would push over when someone books, or if it would just eventually disappear after they sync.
Is this just a glitch? I can't seem to find anything in product updates. Even my OwnerRez had some updates as well as VRBO with no emails or notice? I know have two tabs under the property description, and in VRBO my "edit property" page is completely different. Maybe it's all OwnerRez related since it all happened at the same time?
Thank you!
There was an issue with a recent update where it was validating the hosted website description version with too short of a max length (even if you don't have hosted website enabled). That's now fixed and you shouldn't see the LQA error anymore.
