I just had a consultation with VRBO and he said that they now have seasonal cancellation. Does this need to be set in OwnerRez? If so, then how?
Same here. I talked with them a week or so ago and they asked if we had seasonal cancelation policies. I told them that OR said they didn't support it because vrbo didn't. They informed me that they did offer that and made it seem like it's been around for a while.

No, they are not supported yet for API integrated partners. This takes time to develop.
I agree this would be a phenomenal feature, even if it were just implemented for our direct booking site.

We would love to implement it. However, Vrbo does not yet support this function via its API, so we can't do so. They plan to add it, but the delivery timeline has slipped from their original plan. We'll implement it as soon as it's available to OwnerRez.
@Shawn, have you thought about implementing it in OwnerRez for direct bookings?
Our Custom Cancellation Policies integrate with Vrbo, so are limited to what they support - and they don't. We have asked them for this as well as some other additional customization options, and will implement them as soon as they allow, but, I wouldn't anticipate that happening in the near future.

I would also like different cancellation policies based on the season or specific dates. VRBO now allows this so is this possible?
Along these same lines, we also have different check in/out times based on seasons when it's very busy or slow. It would be great to have this option as well.
Nothing is more damaging to our business than the lack of seasonal cancellation. VRBO says they support it, and that it is a OR limitation. Imagine having a guest book three weeks in your peak season and then cancel 14 days out. We MUST optimize revenues during our peak season to cover the high taxes and insurance that have eaten all our profits. OR needs to fix this. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!
Agreed, this 100% needs to be implemented. Our area in FL is very snowbird heavy, and the majority of our rentals during Jan-Mid April are 30 day minimum and some 60 or 90 rentals. Being able to have a much more flexible cancellation policy during our off months but still protect our high season rentals would be a huge benefit to our rental bookings.

Vrbo does support seasonal cancellation policies via a new API they're rolling out. We're working in the direction of making that possible when syncing from OwnerRez, and that's a bigger effort that includes writing to an entirely new API.
I have no ETA to provide at this time, but we know it's of high priority to many of our users.
