As we grow our business and get a little more sophisticated with email marketing campaigns, we're using automation tools like Zapier to more efficiently run our business. We've discussed Zapier for the past several years in the forums, but it's time to consider bumping this up on the roadmap to help hosts/small biz owners run their businesses more efficiently and effectively. Would be a great value add for OR and hopefully minimize development work that's outside of OR's core competencies!
#1 - For the Availability/Property Search Widget can you please add functionality to show all search results on one page? Currently it shows 12 and then prompts the user to click page 2. It would be a huge advantage to have all my listings on one page instead of 12 on one and 3 on the next.
#2 - For the Wordpress Widget code Property Description , can you add an accordion feature after 150 words of property description that reads "read more" and then allows the user to read the rest of the content?
Every once in a while there are situations where we don't ask a guest to sign a renter agreement on their booking. It could be a family member, a friend, or it could be a booking that we had to re-create from an original (canceled) booking.
It would be nice if there was some kind of indicator on the "Legal" page of the booking to tic that tells the system that a renter agreement IS on file, even though one wasn't actually signed through OwnerRez.
This way, any triggers that we might have that would not fire if a signed agreement is not on file can register that the indicator is selected and will therefore trigger as scheduled.
I use a trigger to send the check-in instructions email and door code 10 days in advance of the guests' arrival as long as the booking is paid in full and a signed renter agreement is on file. But on these specific bookings the trigger won't fire because we did not ask the guests to sign a renter agreement.
If we could just tic the indicator on the legal page to trick the system into thinking a signed agreement IS on file, that would save us the trouble of having to manually send the check-in instructions email and door code to the guest.
Properties, Quotes, Inquires, CRM all have a setting at the bottom of the page that lets you choose how many records should show up per page.
If you change the setting on one page, you've changed the setting for all of the pages.
It would be nice if they were individualized / separated from each other so that we could have custom lengths for each page. I'd like to have 50 records show up per page on Properties, but only 20 records show up per page on the other ones (Quotes / Inquires / CRM).
Please add this feature! :)

Yes, this is because the OR emails are sent from the *@inquiryspot.com rather than from your associated email account.
It's been awhile since I set it up and I honestly don't remember how I did it. I think I set the OR trigger to send to my email account, then I set a rule in that account to forward that email to IFTTT.
There is a great reddit community devoted to IFTTT issues. This is a workaround I just found; I'm not sure it will help you but it may get you started down the rabbit hole. : )
https://www.reddit.com/r/ifttt/comments/b85ni8/gmail_mail_forwarding/
Let us know how it works out for you; it might be helpful for future OR users to know exactly how to configure it. I sure wish I had written down what I did to make that piece work.
Good luck!
Just wanted to suggest a modal pop-up confirmation that includes the dollar amount for processing refund transactions. This would be nice to verify the amount is captured correctly by the system and no typo by the user.
Thank you!
I have thought about this as well and definitely an important feature to have, if possible!
IFTTT doesn’t seem to be recognizing the emails being sent from OR. I know sometimes emails sent via OR get filtered so I’m wondering if you did anything special to get IFTTT to process your triggered templates.
I have a verified domain.
IFTTT works fine if I send the email directly from my email account so it appears to be issue on OR side.
I just did this using IFTTT. It was super easy; I have an Ecobee thermostadt.
I set up a template and a trigger in OR that sends an email to IFTTT, based on certain conditions (summer season and no one stayed in the place the night before).
This email triggers IFTTT to turn the Ecobee thermostadt to a certain temperature and Hold until the next scheduled transition.
This way, I can set the AC to kick on a few hours prior to a guest's arrival, so they don't arrive to a hot place.
This is brilliant! so if I understand I could just set up a trigger to send an email to IFTTT say, 5 hours before a guest checks in to engage the thermostat. and then something similar for afterward. SO helpful!
Agreed. Would be nice to be able to receive the Daily Checklist report each morning.
Automated billing reminders would be nice, even for STRs where you have split payments.
How do you do the text step?
I do the same as Brandon, for a variety of reasons, I prefer to have all communication. be direct via email & when a booking happens, I message guests to check their email with. an explanation.
I auto send from OR a generic text to the guest after the email had gone out reminding them to check their email to help alleviate this.
I'm also having this issue. I have the e-mails set up but the guests just don't read them. I have spoken to VRBO and there is a way to automate messages within their messaging system but it seems that OwnerRez integration stops this from being possible.
They have recommended I call the Integrated Property Manager support department to see if I can get them to do fix it. I'm going to call on Tuesday so I'll let you know. I'll also let them know if it isn't sorted soon I'll be snoozing my listing on VRBO as without automation it isn't worth it.

Paul,
Thanks for your response. As a work around we have already done exactly what you suggested, before this request was submitted. The idea is to have this built in the OwnerRez system for all to use, benefit from, and not have to go outside a system we already pay for. Some people would not have the means or knowledge how to do this. The Tax detailed report is misleading because when selecting a period (or specific dates) it should not include any reservation days outside of the reporting period. If someone wants to run a bank report just for a specific month, or date range, one would not expect any other data outside of those dates, otherwise you get incorrect values as what this current report produces. It misleads you to believe that the taxes collected are based on the date range selected when in fact it includes all reservation days outside of the specified date range.

It would also be very handy be able to add the same "Check-in Instructions" to every single property as well, since our check-in instructions are the same for all properties. It is tedious having to go through each property and copy-and-paste.
The "Nearby Places & Activities" that we can set up under the Location tab on a property doesn't actually show up on the Hosted Website.
It would be really cool if they did show up!
Thanks for the feedback, Simona! One possible solution that you could do right now would be to export that report to Excel and then add a column that considers if Period Nights is the same as Total Nights. If not, it divides them to get the percentage and uses that to calculate how much the tax should be.
Hi ShaRee,
These are two limitations of the Vrbo API connection. We have been in active discussion with Vrbo regarding both topics. They are working on a Messaging API to allow access to Vrbo Messages from within OwnerRez (and hopefully inquiries with it), and are looking into a possible option of API connections that keep payment management within Vrbo.
As far as automated messaging for Vrbo guests, we recommend utilizing email communication for those via Templates and Triggers. Once you collect the Point of Contact form and Renter Agreement from your guest, you will have their real email address so all communications can be handled that way.

Hello,
I think it would be really helpful to allow VRBO automated messaging like with airbnb. Also the ability to connect VRBO through API without having to process cards and collect taxes. I came over from another management software so I could collect deposits through airbnb but am honestly debating going back. I am retired and do not like having to keep track of all the messages I need to send for routine things like check-in/check-out or deal with the tax man every single month. Thanks.

All 50 of our properties are located within the same Gates Resort Community, therefore they are all the same distance from various "nearby places"
I would love to be able to create Nearby Places and then choose which properties to associate them with or the option to associate or add them all of our properties at once. For example, all our properties are located 60 KM and 1 hour from the Liberia International Airport.
Instead of adding this Nearby Place individually to 50 properties, it would be amazing to create it once and then choose which properties to add it to or the ability to add it to all properties at once.
If a change needs to be made to a Nearby place you would only need to do it once and it would automatically be updated for all properties for which it was associated/added.
Use the main Booking screen, List view, and in the Filters you can search by whether they have TI.
Where can you see the Booking Activity Notes to identify when a guest has purchased travel insurance? I cannot see that in the Booking.
For any screen that allows you to select specific properties or owners
#1 force all check boxes to be blank when screen appears so you do not have to deselect 30 properties to pick 3
or add a ONLY option so you could select everything but a handful
Requesting a proration calculation report based on Period Nights, and Not Total Nights. No matter which option is selected (This Month, Next Month, This week, etc..), they are all a fixed date range, or "Reporting Period". The current report includes the entire stay for each reservation. My request will benefit the entire OwnerRez community who wish to calculate taxes paid for given period, especially when a booking spans across two months, or how each state has different reporting periods. My Request is to have a radio button named "Prorate" or any term that is voted on. When Prorate is selected, along with "any stay during period" selected (AKA the fixed date range) and "include pending/cancelled bookings" boxes are unchecked, tell the system to run a function to perform 2 calculations that will be displayed in the Total Charges column. Step one is to calculate the daily prorate by subtracting "Non-Taxable Charges" from "Charge Total" which is then divided by "Total Nights" - End result is the "daily prorate". The daily prorate should then be multiplied by "Period of Nights" - "Period of nights being the fixed date range (This Month, Next Month, Custom, etc...).
My example for this would be a 4 night reservation that spanned, from 30 May - 2 June with $890.00 total "Taxable Charges . I want to report the taxes received only for May, therefore I need to prorate the reservation from 4 days (or "Total Nights" down to 2 days (or "Period Nights". By selecting the Prorate button and selecting/deselecting the previously mentioned criterion, the system now knows that I do not care about calculating any received taxes for the 2 days of one or more reservations that extended into June. Because the current report calculates based on "Total Nights" (4 days), the system calculates taxes based on that value (4), and the calculated taxes are as such (8.90, 8.90, 44.50, and 53.40, where set taxes and fees are 1,1,5, and 6 percent.) However, if prorated the function would be as follows:
1. "prorated" Daily Rate: 890/4 = 225.50
2. "Prorated" Period Nights: 225.50 * 2 = 445 (displayed in "Taxable Charges)
3. Prorated taxes then would display as 4.45, 4.45, 22.25, and 26.70
The current report is only good if you want a report of what the "Total" taxes collected for the entire reservation, and not a prorated method for reporting taxes to be paid to the respective city, county, and/or state.
The alternative option to a "Prorate" radio button is to perform the same prorated calculation provided above based on comparing "Period Nights" from "Total Nights". If they do not equal, then the system runs the Prorate function to get the prorated amounts based on "Period Nights" otherwise calculate using current system calculation for taxes collected.

I'm not suggesting you remove A records for your main domain, but you do need to remove them for the subdomain or resolution will go sometimes to OwnerRez and other times to the IP addresses in your subdomain A records.
You're correct, we don't currently support customizing the fonts colors on your branded portal subdomain. Good idea for an additional feature!
We do support the logo and I'm not able to reproduce your issue with the OwnerRez logo showing on your branded portal subdomain. If you're still having an issue with that, contact support with a detailed screenshot so we can drill in further.
I'm sorry, but asking me to remove my A records for this domain isn't an acceptable ask. The A records I have configured I need, and also have nothing to do with the subdomain I configure for you. Nor should it interfere with your ability to retrieve my logo to use post authentication, considering that that logo is stored on your server side (since I had to upload it) and therefore any domain resolving for the image URL should point towards a domain you host (which it does).
Additionally, I don't think you're fully understanding my ask. I'm not saying that its not working. It is working. I just don't like how this feature is implemented. Because I don't have the option to use CUSTOM CSS for the whitelabeling. In order to properly white label it, I need more control over how the pages are rendered. For instance, on the authentication screen, you use green buttons. That is off brand for me. The fonts are different. The toolbar and text color is different. It makes this look like a sloppy implementation on our side.
I appreciate having this functionality. I'm just asking for you guys to take the next iteration of it.
