Vrbo Flat Taxes

Vrbo percent taxes should show as percents on booking items, but if the amounts don't match our calculations they'll be set to flat.

So if you see a flat type tax, that's a symptom that the calculation doesn't match. This could be correct if it's close & a rounding error. If it's far different, it's likely a config issue.

Check the Settings > Pricing Preferences for taxability on rent:

Check the Settings > API > Vrbo > Feed Links > Lodging Rate:

For example:

If that is not it, compare the actual tax collected versus the tax setup on OwnerRez. How close are the numbers? Could it be a rounding issue?

OwnerRez lets you set taxability per surcharge. But Vrbo only lets you configure taxability per charge category. So if any surcharge in that category in OwnerRez is marked taxable, Vrbo will charge tax on all of them.

This will be solved once we finish https://github.com/ownerrez/orez/issues/3049 as the individual surcharge taxabililty flag will go away in OwnerRez, and we'll align with Vrbo tax by category. In the meantime, we'll add an LQA to target this issue: https://github.com/ownerrez/orez/issues/9871
