Airbnb Listing Issues

Airbnb Locked API Fields

Airbnb has released a feature in which an API connected host making changes to listing content directly on Airbnb will prompt Airbnb to lock those fields that were modified so they can no longer be overwritten by the API. This can be any listing field, attribute, or amenity. Only rates and availability are exempt from this locking at present.

More information on this topic can be found in Airbnb's Preserving Host Updates article.

Hosts can unlock these fields on the Airbnb website or mobile app by finding their listing, selecting preferences, and opting to manage from OwnerRez instead. This action unlocks all attributes simultaneously.

Note that these locks will only be applied if a host makes changes directly in Airbnb after the API is connected. There is currently no risk of those fields locking automatically upon connection if the listing already exists in Airbnb at the time of connection.

Error When API Connecting to Airbnb

Sometimes the connection fails when a user tries to API connect to Airbnb with the message:

Error connecting property - Unfortunately, this is no longer available.

This can occur when the user is in read only mode.  If they were originally connected to Airbnb, but disconnected and then reconnected through the Import Wizard, we only request read-only access to their Airbnb account. To connect properties in the channel settings, we need to be in read-write mode.

Select "Connect a Channel" from https://app.ownerrez.com/settings/channels, choose Airbnb and "Existing", then reconnect. This will request read/write permissions and update your channel on the OwnerRez end.

To do so, simply click here on the Channel Integrations page:
Select "Connect another Airbnb":
You'll be presented with the following options. Select the "Connect to an existing Airbnb account":
As long as you're logged in to the right Airbnb account, you should be able to proceed business as usual, and OwnerRez will associate the old connection with the new one.
