OwnerRez Supplemental Discount Types are pre-configured discounts (including discount codes and manual discounts) applied to bookings. Configuring an optional discount, such as a fixed amount or percentage off, that guests can manually select during the direct booking process, encourages immediate reservations, reduces booking abandonment, rewards guests for committing, and can increase conversion rates when travelers compare options.
Optional Discount
Navigate to Settings > Pricing > Discounts > + Create Discount > Optional Discount.
On the Create Discount page, enter the discount Description and Guest Explanation displayed to the guest during the booking process.
In the Amount Type field, you can select a Fixed amount of discount per stay or night, or a Percentage of rent per stay, or Percent of subtotal per stay.

Guest Booking Experience
Guests can select the optional discount in the Discounts & Promotions section and then the Update Quote Charges & Total during the booking process.
After selection and updating, the optional discount is displayed in the description of charges.
Unless you want to offer an optional discount with no strings attached, optional discounts may require some additional processes to verify that your guests qualify for them. Using the example above, you may want to create a new booking message template with a custom field for the guest to send your required qualifying verification and a trigger with a tag automation to request verification from guests who selected the optional discount automatically.
