Clipboard History

Ctrl + V lets you paste the last thing you pasted, but Windows also has a way to track multiple items on the clipboard at once and let you pick one. On Windows 10 (as long as it's a version since October 2018), you can enable clipboard history: https://www.howtogeek.com/671222/how-to-enable-and-use-clipboard-history-on-windows-10/

For Windows 11: https://www.howtogeek.com/821168/how-to-enable-and-use-clipboard-history-on-windows-11/

And then press ⊞ Win key + V to view your last 25 items on the clipboard and pick the one to paste.

Text Extractors

One of them is the Text Extractor which allows you to lasso text in an image and have it OCR'ed into text on the clipboard. If somebody sends you a screenshot, but you need the text -- whether it be a booking number or paragraphs of content, you can use this tool to copy text from an image.

Install PowerToys and then access the extractor by using ⊞ Win key + Shift + T More on this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/text-extractor

  • OCR2Edit tool allows you to convert a saved image that contains text to a text file.

Grouping Tabs Together

If you tend to have many tabs open you can group them together to keep them organized. Just right-click on one tab > Add tab to group > create new group > name the group. You can then add tabs by right-clicking or drag/drop into that group.
