Vrbo guide

Our Channel Management feature is extremely powerful and can greatly simplify your channel advertising. Learn how it works by reading our Channel Management overview article.  A core part of our Channel Management is the Calendar Import/Export process which keeps your OwnerRez calendar in sync with channel calendars.

This article provides a walk-through guide for configuring calendar import/export for Vrbo.  You need a calendar import and export for Vrbo, so make sure to configure both.

Importing calendar from Vrbo

Vrbo has made significant changes to its Owner Dashboard. We recommend that users read and follow the instructions on Vrbo's Import a Calendar help article.

Go to Vrbo and log into the Owner Dashboard > Calendar

Go to Vrbo and log into the Owner Dashboard > Calendar.

For the remainder of the import calendar process for Vrbo, we recommend that users read and follow the instructions in Vrbo's Import a Calendar help article.

In OwnerRez, open the same property and go to the Calendar Import tab. Under the Calendar Import tab, click "+ Import Calendar" and paste the export calendar you just copied from Vrbo in the URL field. By default, the Listing Site and Name fields should be filled into Vrbo.

In OwnerRez, open the same property and go to the Calendar Import tab. Under the Calendar Import tab, click

Choose "Bookings Only" for Import Events.  The channels can create "ghost" bookings as guests start, but don't finish, the booking process (abandoned shopping carts).  The "Bookings Only" option prevents those from mistakenly blocking your calendar.

If this is the first time you are importing this calendar, check the "Include Past Events" checkbox so you'll have history of old bookings. You should not need to change any of the other default settings on the page.

Click Save at the bottom to finish.

If you have any questions about the other settings on the calendar import page, read our general overview on configuring calendar imports or consult the Common Issues & Questions support article.

Exporting calendar to Vrbo

Vrbo has made significant changes to its Owner Dashboard. Users can also read Vrbo's Export Your Reservation Calendar help article.

Exporting the OwnerRez iCal from your OR account into Vrbo allows OwnerRez to keep your Vrbo calendar up-to-date and helps you avoid double bookings.

Before going to your Vrbo account, make sure you have the OwnerRez export iCal for the property you'd like to connect. Go into OwnerRez and go to Settings > Channels > Calendar Import/Export and click the Export tab.  A list of your OwnerRez properties will show with an export link next to each one. Click the Copy button to the right of the Export URL you need to use.

In another tab, go to Vrbo and log into the Owner Dashboard > Calendar

Go to Vrbo and log into the Owner Dashboard > Calendar.

For the remainder of the export calendar process for Vrbo, we recommend that users read and follow the instructions in Vrbo's Export Your Reservation Calendar help article.

Repeat these steps for EACH of your Vrbo channel listings, making sure to use the OwnerRez Export URL that's specific to each property.

If you have any questions about calendar exporting, read our general overview on configuring calendar exports or consult the Common Issues & Questions support article.
