The Ribbon view offers a versatile way to seamlessly view both past and upcoming bookings, nightly rates, rules, and blocked-off times. You can spot your stay rules, see which nights are most expensive, and change rates without leaving the booking calendar. Access the Ribbon calendar view by selecting Ribbon on the Bookings page. The current date will always be highlighted in light yellow.

Layers
Click Layers at the top of the Ribbon view, next to the Bookings filter button. On a narrow screen, the button shows only its icon. Inside are two switches:
- Nightly rates puts each open night's rate in its box, along with the dot and stripe markers described below. It's on for everyone; uncheck it to hide the rates.
- Heat tint shades each open night green, darker for higher rates. It's off unless you turn it on.
Move the Ribbon Calendar Handle, aka the Handle, back and forth to view both past and future bookings
Use one, both, or neither. OwnerRez remembers your login choice, so each team member sets their own. Rates show only in the Ribbon view, not in the Month, Year, or List views. The same two switches are in Preferences under Ribbon View.
Nightly Rates
Each open night shows its rate as a plain number: 850, 1234. Rates of 10,000 and up are shortened, so 12,400 shows as 12k. There's no currency symbol in the box; hover over the night for the full amount.
It's the same nightly rate the Rates Calendar shows, whether from a season or a rate set for that night. It doesn't include surcharges, taxes, discounts, or channel markups, so it won't match what a guest pays.
- Booked and blocked nights don't show a rate.
- Past nights show, in grey, the rate the night had when it passed.
- An open night with no number has no rate yet. It's past the property's booking window, or OwnerRez hasn't calculated it yet.
- On a checkout day, the rate sits in the open half of the box. A rate of four characters or more, like 1250 or 12k, doesn't fit there, so hover the night to see it.
The day columns get a little wider while Nightly rates are on, to fit the numbers.
Dot and Stripes
Two markers show your stay rules without hovering. They come with Nightly rates.
- A small brown dot in the top-right corner indicates that the night's minimum stay exceeds the property's minimum-nights setting. A season, a rule set on that night, or a gap rule raised it. Hover over the night to see the number.
- Diagonal stripes mean no stay can include the night. The usual causes are required gap nights next to a booking, a channel blackout that covers every channel, or a snoozed property. The night's details say No stays this night.
Arrival and departure restrictions don't get a marker. Hover over the night to see them.
Heat Tint
Heat tint shades each open night with one of five greens: the lightest for the property's cheapest nights, the darkest for its most expensive. OwnerRez ranks all of the property's upcoming nights by rate and splits them into five equal groups, one per shade. A night keeps the same shade wherever you scroll to it.
Some open nights stay white:
- A property with a single rate for every night gets no tint.
- When most nights share one rate, those nights stay white, and the nights above or below it get the darkest or lightest green.
- A night with no rate yet has no tint.
Heat tint works with Nightly rates off, if you'd rather see color than numbers. It's the same idea as the shading on the Rates Calendar.
Nightly Details
Hover over an open night to see its details. On a phone or tablet, tap the night, or press and hold it. The card shows:
- The date and property
- The rate, in the property's currency
- The season the rate comes from, or Spot rate when the night has its own rate, set on the Rates Calendar or imported (for example, from a pricing tool)
- Minimum nights, when more than 1, and maximum nights, when set
- No stays this night, No arrivals, No departures, or Gap rule applies, when they apply
- When OwnerRez last calculated the rate, such as "Calculated 3 minutes ago", or Past night
Setting Rates from the Ribbon
Click an open night, or click and drag across open nights on one property. While a rate layer is on, the night under your pointer and the nights you select turn blue. A menu opens:
- Quick quote opens the Quick Quote pop-up with the dates filled in, ready for a quote or a booking.
- Block off opens the same pop-up, set to block off those dates.
- Set rates opens the Rates Calendar's Set Rates window for those nights. It's there when Nightly rates or Heat tint is on.
After a drag, the menu also shows the dates, the number of nights, and their total rate.
When you save, the new rates appear immediately with a blue outline that fades once OwnerRez confirms them. If the save fails, the old rates come back with a red outline and an error message.
With a rate layer on, each box is one night. To quote Friday to Sunday, select Friday and Saturday. With both layers off, a drag runs from the arrival day to the departure day, and a click picks the arrival day.
Set rates leaves past nights alone. If every night you picked is in the past, Set rates is greyed out and says "In the past". It changes rates only; set minimum nights and changeover rules on the Rates Calendar.
On a phone or tablet, dragging moves the calendar instead of selecting nights. Tap one night at a time, or use the Rates Calendar for a range.
How Quickly Rates Update
Rates you set from the ribbon show right away. A change made elsewhere (the Rates Calendar, a season, a rule, or a pricing tool) usually appears on the ribbon within a minute. Overnight, while OwnerRez recalculates every property, it can take up to an hour.
The ribbon doesn't redraw while you're looking at it. It refreshes when you return to it via your browser's Back button, or when you return to its tab after more than five minutes away. Otherwise, reload the page. A night's details show when its rate was last calculated.
Who Sees Rates
- Account owners see rates and can set them.
- Team members with Full access can see and set rates. With Read-only checked, they see rates but can't set them.
- Team members with Limited access don't see rates or the Layers button.
- Portal users, such as owners and cleaners, don't see rates on their calendar.
Common Issues & Questions
Why am I seeing nightly rates on my calendar? How do I turn them off?
Since October 15, 2026, the Ribbon view shows nightly rates for everyone. Click Layers at the top of the Ribbon view and uncheck Nightly rates. OwnerRez remembers that for your login. You can also turn it off in Preferences.
What does the brown dot in a night's box mean?
The night's minimum stay exceeds the property's minimum-nights setting. Hover over the night to see the number. See the Dot and Stripes section above.
What do the diagonal stripes mean?
No stay can include that night, usually because of required gap nights next to a booking, a blackout on every channel, or a snoozed property. See the Dot and Stripes section above.
What does heat tint mean? Why are some nights white?
Heat tint shades each open night by how its rate compares to the property's other upcoming nights: light green for the cheapest fifth, dark green for the most expensive fifth. It shows price only, not demand or bookings. A night stays white when the property has one rate on every night, when the night has the rate most nights share, or when it has no rate yet. See the Heat Tint section above.
Can I see rates on the Month or Year view?
No, only on the Ribbon view. For a month-at-a-time rate, use the Rates Calendar.
Why don't I see the Layers button?
Layers is only in the Ribbon view, and only for people who can see rates: the account owner and team members with Full access. See Who Sees Rates above.
Why is an open night blank?
It has no rate yet: it's past the property's booking window, or OwnerRez hasn't calculated it. On a checkout day, a rate of four characters or more is hidden; hover over the night to see it.
Why doesn't the ribbon rate match what my guest paid?
The ribbon shows the nightly rate before surcharges, taxes, discounts, and channel markups. Click the night and choose Quick quote to see the full price.
I changed a rate, and the ribbon still shows the old one.
Wait a minute, then reload the page. Hover over the night and check its "Calculated" time.
