GuestMode by EasyStream

GuestMode is a TV streaming platform for hosts that allows them to remove leftover streaming credentials for guests who have checked out.  Guests see a welcome screen with their name, sign in to their own streaming apps, and are signed out of everything at checkout, so nothing personal stays on the TV.

System Requirements

GuestMode requires a Google TV platform.  This can be either a Chromecast with Google TV device or a TV that comes pre-installed with Google-TV (such as a Sony Bravia).

Steps for Integration

You connect your OwnerRez account to EasyStream yourself. Once it is connected, OwnerRez sends booking notifications to EasyStream.

  1. Set up the TV. EasyStream runs on a Chromecast with Google TV; the setup guide takes 30 to 40 minutes per TV.
  2. In OwnerRez, check each property's check-out time. EasyStream signs the TV out at that time, and nothing else needs setting up in OwnerRez.
  3. On the TV, open the EasyStream admin screen and scan the QR code under Link this TV to a property.

EasyStream can be installed on as many TVs as the host would like and all be assigned to the same property.  Linking a TV to a different service replaces the previous link.

What Guests See

When a guest turns on the TV, Guest Mode greets them by first name, for example "Welcome, Consuelo", and shows the room's streaming apps in one grid: for example YouTube, Apple TV, Disney+, ESPN, HBO Max, Hulu and Netflix. A line under the greeting reminds them to sign in with their own accounts and that they are all signed out at checkout. The room label you chose when linking appears as a tag on the screen. When a guest turns on the TV, Guest Mode greets them by first name, for example

Guest Mode is on by default, and the first name in the greeting comes from the guest's OwnerRez booking.

Once a stay is linked, a tag shows when the guest checks out and how long is left, for example Checkout Tomorrow · 11:00 AM · signs out in 17 h 11 min. A Check out button lets a guest sign out early with Check out now, or schedule the sign-out with Set a checkout time. At Checkout

GuestMode reads each reservation's departure date and check-out time from OwnerRez, and signs the TV out at that moment. Every TV linked to the property is signed out together. EasyStream sees every booking in OwnerRez, from any channel. If a reservation is extended or canceled, the schedule updates within seconds.

At checkout, the TV shows a progress screen while EasyStream signs the guest out of every installed streaming app and removes the guest's accounts from the TV. When it finishes, the screen reads "Room ready" and "Ready for next guest". A software update never starts during a checkout.GuestMode reads each reservation's departure date and check-out time from OwnerRez, and signs the TV out at that moment. To move a TV to another property, repeat the linking steps; the new link replaces the old one.

What Data is Transmitted

EasyStream reads reservation timing and the guest's first name from OwnerRez and nothing about guests' streaming accounts: it never stores or handles their credentials.
