Owned by PayPal, Braintree is a global, end-to-end payment processing service owned by PayPal. It enables businesses in over 45 countries to accept various digital payments—including Venmo, and credit/debit cards.
Setup & Connecting
OwnerRez connects with Braintree via the "API Credentials" model, the same way most of the processor and gateway options we integrate with do. Like the other processors and gateways, you'll need to start your Braintree merchant application or log in to your Braintree account, find the API credentials, and copy them into OwnerRez in order to complete the integration.
Configure your Braintree payment method by navigating to Settings > Financial > Payment Methods > + Connect a Payment Method > Connect Braintree.
Enter your API Credentials (e.g., Merchant ID, Public Key, Private Key) provided to you by Braintree and test your API Credentials.
Select your Accepted Card Types, enter your credit card Statement Text, select which Properties you want Braintree to use, and Save.

Testing
After entering your Braintree-provided Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key in OwnerRez, verify your credentials using the Test API Credentials button.
Click 'Run Test' to confirm the test. This sends a request to Braintree with your API credentials. OwnerRez checks Braintree's response to see if it looks right. If the test succeeded, you will see a confirmation.
To test your integration, do a test transaction with a real credit card. Create a manual booking, collect a small payment (around $5), then void and refund the payment, and cancel or delete the booking. This confirms everything works correctly.
