HostReady is a short-term rental compliance platform. It determines whether short-term rentals are allowed at a given address, builds a property-level compliance checklist, monitors the jurisdiction for regulation changes, and produces a shareable compliance certificate. Connecting your OwnerRez account imports your properties into HostReady automatically - every active property is checked against its local short-term rental rules and monitored for changes. The integration is read-only: HostReady reads property and owner data from OwnerRez and never writes anything back.

Steps for Integration
1. Sign up or log in to HostReady.
2. Go to the Integrations page and select OwnerRez.
3. After selecting OwnerRez, click Install from OwnerRez.
4. You'll be taken to OwnerRez to authorize the connection. Sign in to OwnerRez when prompted.
5. Click Authorize HostReady.
6. You will be redirected to HostReady, where your active properties will sync automatically. Uncheck any properties you don’t want to monitor, then choose and activate your plan. Remember, monitoring is included in a paid plan, so properties will stay unmonitored until activated.
What Data is Transmitted
On connection, HostReady performs an initial sync of all active, non-snoozed properties, then keeps them up to date via webhooks. HostReady requests each full property record but retains only the fields needed for compliance:- Property name (and external name)
- Street address, city, state/province, and postal code
- Latitude and longitude
- Property type
- Bedrooms
- Bathrooms
HostReady also reads the account's active owner records (name and email). Snoozed and inactive properties are skipped.
HostReady does not retain the other fields returned in the property record (availability and calendar, rates, currency, check-in / check-out times, occupancy, or door codes).
HostReady → OwnerRez: nothing. The integration is read-only - HostReady never creates, updates, or deletes data in your OwnerRez account. The only write-side call it makes is revoking its own access token when you disconnect.
What HostReady checks for each property
For each connected property, HostReady:
- Resolves the property's jurisdiction and applies that market's short-term rental rules (license requirements, fees, fines, occupancy, and zoning constraints).
- Generates a property-level compliance checklist.
- Computes a compliance status and score.
- Monitors the jurisdiction and alerts you when the rules change.
- Produces a shareable compliance certificate.
Choosing which properties to monitor
All of your active OwnerRez properties import automatically and start as unmonitored. On the activation screen, you pick which ones HostReady should actively monitor (monitoring is part of a paid plan). You can change which properties are monitored at any time from your HostReady dashboard.Webhooks
Yes - the integration uses OwnerRez webhooks to stay current in real time instead of polling. HostReady subscribes to property events and handles:
- Property created: The new property syncs into HostReady as unmonitored and is queued for a compliance check. You select it on the manage screen to start monitoring it.
- Property updated: HostReady re-syncs when the change affects compliance-relevant fields (descriptions, location, or rules). Availability and calendar changes are intentionally ignored, since they don't affect compliance.
- Property deleted: The property is archived in HostReady. Its compliance history and any completed checklist work are preserved, not destroyed.
- Authorization revoked: The connection is marked revoked and the stored token is cleared.
Webhook requests are authenticated with the HTTP Basic user and password configured on the OAuth app, deduplicated by event ID so a replay can't double-process, acknowledged immediately, and processed in the background.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect OwnerRez from HostReady at any time. On disconnect, HostReady revokes its OwnerRez access token and archives the synced properties. If you reconnect later, the properties are restored, and any completed checklist progress is preserved.Support
