We wanted to let you know that we’ve upgraded your eligible fees and discounts in OwnerRez to our newer “Standard” format.

This upgrade is designed to improve compatibility and merchandising with channels like Airbnb and Vrbo, where supported, while also giving you a more streamlined setup going forward.

For most users, this should be a seamless upgrade, and your pricing behavior should remain the same. However, there are a few cases where you may notice very minor differences:

  • Multiple length-of-stay discounts may now be combined into a single standard discount with a tier for each number of discount days.
  • Some monthly-style discount thresholds may have been normalized from 30 days to 28 days because 28 days is how channels define a “monthly” stay.
  • Pet fee min/max pet criteria may have been removed where those limits were not supported by channel partners (not the pet fee, just the extra criteria).
  • Early Bird and Last Minute discounts may now be sent to Vrbo as promos, which can slightly affect how Vrbo interprets certain discount timing rules.

We recommend taking a quick look at your fees and discounts to make sure everything appears the way you expect.

If you had other older fee or discount setups that could not be cleanly upgraded, they may still require manual review or re-creation as Standard discounts in order to receive full merchandising support.

However, If you notice that a fee or discount was upgraded but you still require more advanced functionality, you can re-create it as an Advanced Surcharge here: https://app.ownerrez.com/settings/surcharges/add?type=complex. Please note that complex surcharges are best used for your direct booking site only, as many of the additional conditions available in Advanced Surcharges are not supported by major booking channels like Airbnb and Vrbo.
